Generally I'd be in favor of everyone having the same info, but in this case it seems like it's actually more work than anyone wants to do, so leaving it undone might be preferable.

The request was coming from the desire to see more clearly who is still in the running to make the finals than to make any effort to figure out the identity of a player in a game, which is a task in futility.

Ehhhh, I'd rather not know, tbh. Because then anon will be broken for the last few games.

I don't mind people knowing I still have 4 games in progress so even if they all draw I can "technically" still make the cut.

I think we should just make the tournament non-anon. I think it would add an interesting strategic element.

I don't like that. All the meta messed up the World Cup too, in my opinion.

I am against GMs revealing the number of completed games by players at any stage of the tournament. I agree with the sentiment that if we call it Gunboat Anon, then ANY information breaks the intent. In any case, if you want to get it, anyone can right now by clicking on every completed game so far and tabulating it - have fun doing that if you want. GMs - you could consider NOT POSTING the links to the completed games as well to eliminate that "loophole".

Xorxes is just a player tabulating on his own. I could ban posting any information, but since it's there and he's already found it, I'd just be putting him at a competitive advantage.

I'm still not sure how it's an advantage really. It's only gonna make an impact on the moves you make in game <1% of the time.

I just think it's fun to see my position go down relative to everyone else.
