14 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament!

You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible.

Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know.

Good luck!
17 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Unpausing because the last voter seems to be around. Let me know if you need a pause.
18 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1910: Moderator: (bo_sox48): Paused by player request until June 21. Per tournament rules, each player is granted up to 7 days of pause time.
21 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1910: Moderator: (ghug): A player has been replaced in this game. Due to the undefined end date of the pause, I'm going to let you all unpause yourselves. If this doesn't happen within a few days, please let me know.
01 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1910: Moderator: (ghug): Unpaused.
12 Jul 18 UTC gg well played
12 Jul 18 UTC How neither Germany nor Russia tapped Galicia there....I'll never know.

:-(
12 Jul 18 UTC I had no incentive to stop the solo anymore since I was going to be eliminated either way. France could have taken Marseilles though.
12 Jul 18 UTC I didn't think to tap Galicia tbh. Good game regardless.
12 Jul 18 UTC I could've but was counting on you guys to hold the East. If I would've taken Mars it would've left me pretty exposed to further attack into Spain/Port
12 Jul 18 UTC I didn't understand your move to Eng in S11. Italy was already winning so England was not going to attack you, you already had a stalemate line for Spa-Mar if you had stayed in Mid. You also needed to move to Ruh way sooner. England had nothing to gain by attacking you at that point.
12 Jul 18 UTC Agreed, but the hard part about No In-game is sometimes people will strike to build advantage, especially the ones that are not close enough to stop the sole winner (England vs Italy). Also, not knowing the person in England and their experience level influences a lot of that - I didn't catch any signal from England that they wouldn't stab me.
12 Jul 18 UTC But between a certain attack from Italy and a potential suicidal attack from England the sensible thing is to defend from Italy. If England attacks you. the loss is on him. As it was, the loss is mostly on you.
12 Jul 18 UTC Yeah, that move to the Channel was bonkers. You could see in Fall 1910 that I was aware of the Italian threat (Den support Kiel holding, Norway support STP holding). Bonkers I tell you!

As Xorx said, if other players in the game won't try to stop the solo, you can't win anyway. So...you just have to assume they are going to try to stop the solo.

That said, it is difficult to count on unknown players to abandon a war at the right time to stop a solo threat when you can't even speak with them. Tough one.
12 Jul 18 UTC Perhaps even more bonkers, you didn't move Channel back to MAO in Fall 1911, after I made the very accommodating move of Wales to Irish Sea. What was the deal there?
13 Jul 18 UTC No idea.
13 Jul 18 UTC Fair enough.
