Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament! You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible. Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know. Good luck! |

Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Unpaused
Autumn, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): As our phishing investigation has concluded, this game is being unpaused. I've reset the phase to give you time to get back up to speed, but feel free to ready up before then. If you have any questions or concerns, address them to webdipmod@gmail.com, and remember to be careful both here and elsewhere on the internet with your private info. -webDiplomacy Administrator |

Pretty short number of turns for a Turkish victory. There was a really chance of setting up a stalemate line by 1911, but I think the game was mostly decided in 1910. Favio, I was bypassing warsaw and moscow for so many turns and sending alliance signals to you because you did not have nearly enough armies to actually hold Moscow (or warsaw and moscow), so my goal for many years was to get into Tunis and Munich and then easily clean up warsaw and moscow. In order to prevent a solo win from me, I think you needed to prioritize getting permanent possession of Munich, Tunis, or Moscow by someone or some combination of players other than me. |

England lost this game. My biggest mistake was to let him get Moscow, in the hope he new I'd still be able to throw the game to you, Turkey. Him throwing over a western triple, that had holded for so long, in a GB is just plain sad. But hey, hopefully he learned something from it.
Middelfart, I basically agree with you. I avoided attacking England as long as I possibly could, knowing that he could not possibly get a solo win and that if he didn't shore up against one from me I would eventually win. I also realized that eventually you were trying to throw to me, which is about all you can do under the circumstances.
There were some odd moves. France passivity doomed me. Fall of 06 was particularly odd but presumably there was some rational I couldn’t understand. I felt I was staring down the barrel of a turkey solo and the only one who could see it. Or at least do anything about it. That’s whatbsolos are made of. Congrats swordsman. Nice win
I can't figure out what france was trying to do before I joined, either... gg Swordsman |
