Pray, why is nationhood a bad thing? In these times, stronger nationhood is a more practical, reliable way to unite people from disparate cultures than anything else. If Iraq had stronger national unity, maybe some of the divides in the country could be healed (let's not have arguments about the past here either. Where the lines were originally drawn is no longer the point). Much the same could be said of the United States. If more people thought of themselves as Americans first, everything else later, then perhaps a more civil society could be had.
If abolishing nationhood is so great an idea, why is it that time and time again throughout history, the sovereignties with the least national unity are the most easily divided and exploited? It's no different than class. The larger the difference between classes, the easier it is to exploit.
The way to the world unity you seek isn't through dissolving nationhood. It's through cementing national loyalty, then creating a supranational loyalty above that, and so on and so forth until we have a functioning world government
