What does Bhm. Sea stand for in the modern map version?
In the modern map, there's a territory named Bhm. Sea. What does that stand for? I always assumed Bohemian Sea though that doesn't exist (and the sea isn't close to Bohemia). Perhaps it is Bornholm Sea (after the Danish island in the Baltic in that area)?

Identification Methods
For a story I'm writing, I need an adult who has lost his memory to not be easily identifiable. How do I make this feasible?
For instance, I expect the Dutch government to have the fingerprints of Dutch citizens. Do legal immigrants or people with a refugee status have their fingerprints taken as well? Would illegal immigrants or tourists from countries that don't take fingerprints make for a solid storyline? Are there other options?

#ishirkmywork I believe Christianity and Islam, they both sent from Allah and I never say Christianity is wrong. I read Bible a few times. Islamic teaching says Bible was the truth, but people changed it a bit. So Allah sent another book to peoole. We believe Christianity contains some truths.

@yavuzovic
i think all religions contain some truths. they are systems for navigating life. the problems come when people start taking their particular one too seriously -- no reason for Christianity and Islam to be in conflict (other than friendly philosophical discussion of course). I've learned a lot from my Muslim friends over the years, different ways of viewing science etc.
yavuzovic (504 D)
10 Nov 17 UTC
Yes, religions mostly same. Islam's difference is we believe only one God and he (I say "he" but Allah is it is devoid of gender) never have a son. Nothing can like Allah.

I always talk about this. Because if I cause to someone to become a Muslim, I will go to heaven when I die I believe.

while i respect religions and the right to believe in an afterlife, I think Christianity and Islam get dangerous when we start thinking some future, unknowable eternity is more important than the knowable life and people that are here now. Love and care for people and life now.

And can I share some passages:
Surah Al-Ta-Ha:
6) To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil.
7) And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.
8) Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names.
9) And has the story of Moses reached you?
10) When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance."
11)And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses,
12)Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.
13)And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you].
14) Indeed, I am Allah . There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.

Now, you can see Quran is connected with other religions.

no no no. true Christianity is beyond all other religions. no where else will you find this:

“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment. But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment,o and whoever says to his brother, ‘Raqa,’ will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Hey, it's sounds good. But let's listen this:
One day Mohammed (سالالاهو أليهي وا سلام) went to Taif village to teach new religion. It was the new days of Islam. Taif people threw rock and disturbed him. They injured him and forcibly removed him. My propet became sad but not for himself. He prayed to them because my religion wants everybody is Muslim. Because Allah loves what he created. Allah wants to see us in the heaven and he sent books and propets to us. Mohammad(سالالاهو أليهي وا سلام) prayed for their liberation. Islam have a order:
-First offer them religion of Allah.
-If they don't accept this, offer them to join you. They can live with their religion and you must help them for their religion. If they need anything, get it for them.
- If they refuse all of these, fight with their soldiers. If you touch innocent anything, you will go to hell. When my propet took the Mecca, he changed the way because there was a mother dog which have puppies. Conquer their city and turn to second step.

See it includes violence towards others. But Jesus says offer no resistance. Clearly Christianity is the superior truth
Interesting thread Damian. I have not read the Q’ran, so I will probably look in from time to time.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)

Jesus conquered no one. Had no soldiers, had no armies. Had concern for others especially widows and orphans. But Islam chooses to conquer. Clearly anti human and anti peace and anti God and his creation.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
10 Nov 17 UTC
Islam wants fearful slaves as followers. Christianity wants friends who love God by free choice. Again a superior truth.
@yavusovic

That quote does remind me of Christianity. It is not identical though. I am uncertain as to the protocol for the thread though. Should this only be Q’ran or is it permissible to include readings from other texts for comparison.

Without a comparison text, my thought is that Islam seems to focus on judgement or righteousness. There is a specific set of steps to follow when proselytizing to others. The admonition to harm no innocents is admirable. It places upon the follower the need to judge others as innocent or guilty. That might be one of the key misunderstandings. I am probably way off in my assessment, but I acknowledge that I am new to this.

@CAPT Brad
My propet had no soldiers and armies too when the first times. Every religion starts like this. Don't forget crusaders. They slayed lots of Muslims for to conquer. I saw no religion supports violence. Wrong Islam is harmful because of Jihad but if you research Jihad from Islamic dictionaries, you will learn Islam is very peaceful and doesn't harms other cultures. In addition, don't forget:
When your dark ages, it was our golden age.
When your golden age, it is our dark age.
Your people became better by to get away from religion.
My people became worse by to get away from religion.
Because your religion blocks science.
But true Islam orders science.
Rome harms science.
Andalusia was the center of science.
Why we became this!
Why my people selects to be Godless!
I think all the religions peaceful, but fucking wrongs harms humanity.

@Crazy Anglican, thank you.

@yavuzovic

You're welcome, although I don't know what I did to deserve thanks :-)

I freely acknowledge that much of what we term as the Renaissance was a rediscovery of ancient texts from Muslim libraries.

It is an interesting thought about dark ages and golden ages, I am not quite sure what to make of it. I had not considered Islam as having a dark age before.

As to science, it is easy to say that Christianity is against science (I saw it depicted in a sitcom last night actually) but there are so many different ideas and sect of Christianity that I can't see how all could be shown in the same light. I mean used to cringe when I drove by a church in my hometown that always advertised some type of anti-evolution class. Most of the Christians I talk with though have no problem with science at all. Quite a few of them are scientists. Heck the scientific Revolution got its start in Christian Europe in Universities that were often largely funded by churches. Those same universities drew upon knowledge that was brought back from Islamic nations after the European dark ages. So, it can be said that both Islam and Christianity had a hand in helping science grow. There have certainly been religious men who were enemies of science, but it doesn't follow that religion is against science.

As to the charge that Christians have slain lots of people. I acknowledge that to be true. The religions and doctrines we follow may be peaceful, but all too often the followers find reasons to violently support them. It doesn't have to be religions, people get violent about football teams.

I am not sure that I believe that we become better by getting away from religion. I do acknowledge that secular nations seem to have solved some of the problems we used to have among ourselves since there is no political power to be gained by being part of one sect of another in most places. I kind of like that. actually.

You're right about today's Christians supports science. I meant Rome.
Today is the dark age of the Islam, because of the ISIS. I hate ISIS more than you because they causes islamophobia.
I acknowledge Muslim fanatics slains innocents for nothing. This is problem for all the religions.

By the way, christianity absolutely has a darker history of violence than any religion. Between the crusades, the spanish inquisition, darfur, kosovo, waco, the IRA.

Violence is the monopoly christianity has taken ownership of. Pronounced violence lasting nearly a millennia.

I hate the "that's not true Islam" or "THIS is what Islam actually is" arguments.

If fundamentalism is the true nature of every religion, then @CAPTBrad I can almost guarantee that you are not a true Christian.

don't point to doctrine, point to the cultural effects. the statistics of beliefs.

An open discussion about elaborate ways to restore reliability rating
I was thinking how there are members on this site who ruined their Reliability early and can never restore it to the 90th %tile. What if we did a series of experiments on these people. Hook them up to machines. Or perhaps put them in a room full of rats and see if they survive. The goal being we develop a way that someone could go from a 13% RR to a mighty 78%
