The most divisive PM in my lifetime. We're still reaping the results of many of the policies her government introduced, and the "I'm all right jack" view of society that came to the fore.

She was also lucky (which is important in any successful politician's career) - the Falklands war occurred at exactly the right time, boosting her poll ratings (although they were on the way up) and at a point where the UK could still project enough power to retake the islands.

She was a strong leader - both a benefit and untimately a weakness.

She was like a forest fire. Dangerous, devestating and powerful, but also extremely impressive and ultimately necessary.

Oh... from what I've heard about the film (I refuse to watch it on principle. The idea of making a film about a lady's failing mental health and her intimate relationships while she is still alive is a tad sickening) the treatment of the political issues is very weak. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed.

Well, she sounds like an interesting, divisive figure, for sure...she sort of sounds like an American "Up by your Bootstraps" Republican, though, and while there's a certain admirable quality to be had their, there's also a reason I'm registered as a Democrat, so...
