very fast game
A 1 hour turn around game - very quick, but it only 5 points in so it doesn't matter if you miss a turn or two.

Need a Mod - Bug with Unit Placement
In the game http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7581 I'm Russia and I took both Con and Smyrna from Turkey. But because of a bug somehow Turkey was able to retreat each of the units in those spots into the other spot which destroyed my unit but still gave me control of the Area. At first I thought it was a graphical bug bu Turkey had to disband one of the units in question and now has a unit where he shouldn't.

Also, when a unit has no choice to disband, why must orders be entered?

I need to take back my earlier statement of Wasilla as the worst city in the world.

You know how "Air Force One" is the call sign of any Air Force craft carrying the President? Well, the worst city in the world is whichever one contains Sarah "Epic Fail" Palin.
EdiBirsan (1469 D(B))

By worst I mean any combination of factors that make it stand out as the worst in the world. And remember that you have been to.

Lagos Nigeria is notable for me because of
1. outrageous corruption
2. massive crime
3. indifference of the populace
4. horrible government
5. dangerous any time any place
6. prospects for help nil
7. attitude of the people combined aggressiveness and acceptance

etc.
Invictus (240 D)

Well, it's no Lagos but Memphis kinda sucks.
Chrispminis (916 D)

Winnipeg, Canada. =D

1. Unreasonable winters. (-50 C windchill anyone? There's not even much snow! Just ice!)
2. Unreasonable mosquitoes (they have to spray gas at night and they're still huge and malicious! Represent West Nile!)
3. Highest murder rate per capita for a provincial capital in Canada. (Trumps Toronto...)
4. Disproportionate gang presence. (Seriously, why?)
5. BORING! NOTHING TO DO!(Can't go outdoors for fear from frost and mosquito bites...)

Also no matter what their license plates say about Friendly Manitoba I find that Winnipeggers are generally less friendly than say Torontonians, which is saying something! They don't have a very good sense of humour either. At least that's what I've found from the two years I lived there.

so you'd rather live in Lagos than Paris?

My worst list primarily features various grim Chinese cities like Guangzhou, Chongqing. Though I suspect India could compete with come of these (but have not been). And I have yet to visit west or central africa. Hate Dubai too for being completely soulless and ridiculous.

Why does everyone hate Baltimore? Is it really that boring? Well, yes, but there are a million interesting things nearby.

Houston, Texas is bad, yes. Dhaka, Bangladesh is worse.
I liked Baltimore. The wharf/waterfront is nice at least.
aoe3rules (949 D)
08 Jan 09 UTC
@Dingleberry: There isn't really much of a waterfront in Baltimore these days. No, I'm not insane - I mean the development recently has put most Marylanders farther inland. If you were at a good, non-polluted waterfront you were probably closer to Annapolis (which I thought was a really nice place, btw).

Belize City, Belize. I would say Zurich, but I was only there for the night and the next mroning, so I can't judge it beyond the intense, chest pressure inducing smog in and around the airport. But the Swiss Alps were breathtaking in a different, much better way!

No I've never been to Mogadishu but... considering as there is no rule of law there... I don't think anyone wants to go. You don't have to go to a city to know it's a terrible place to be.... that's how travelers make decisions. Anyway..

So what makes Houston a cultural wasteland lol I'm not offended just curious.

Baltimore and Edinburgh are both pretty good cities in my opinion. Baltimore won't win any awards (except for traffic management) but Edinburgh is great - at least when there are more than 10 hours of daylight.

Now St. Louis on the other hand had very little redeeming. Even the Arch is a huge let down.
dangermouse (5551 D)
08 Jan 09 UTC
Oh, and how could I forget New York. It really doesn't matter what else they've got. They Yankees are a huge lead weight around the city's neck and now I can add all of those morons on Wall Street to the bunch.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 Jan 09 UTC
Dangermouse, you hit St. Louis right on the head. Been there, done that, would just as soon have stayed home. DORING. But Belize has 100+ temperatures with 90% humidity and these nasty bugs that, if you walk on the grass, will eat you alive.
