What is the point in "Anonymously + Without chat"?

As far as I understand "Diplomacy" game is all about negotiation. But I see many games here with no chat - what is the point?

@orathaic, I don't think this is childish behavior at all. It may be a little late, but at least they are trying to lay down the law and make a point. Too many parents let their kids walk all over them. Maybe she could have worded it differently, but put yourself in her shoes and think how pissed off you would have to be to do something like this in the first place.

I can agree with that, though public humiliation seems to be the route a lot of people are taking lately. Sometimes it takes a severe message and with the current generations obsession with social status through sites like Facebook that appears to be the most effective course of action. Mind you effective does not necessarily mean right. Also I can make those comments regarding the current generation because I am a part of that generation.
The point being, too many kids are taking what they have for granted and treating everyone else outside of their little social circles, even their own family, like dirt.

Bad parenting - it's more about the mother than the daughter, who has obviously lost the respect from her daughter, and mum is desperate to show the world she is still in control.
Golden Rule: Never publicly humiliate your teenage child, they will hold it against you forever.
A better way forward would have been to make your child sweat on the tickets for the next 6 or 7 weeks. I'm sure they would have been willing to knuckle down if there was a threat of not going. I would guess though that the daughter probably has some of her mothers traits i.e. doesn't give a damn about other people think and feel about her actions ...... you get the children you deserve, if they are bad it's gods way of telling you you're an arse

People don't use 'trollop' in your part of the world? It isn't really just an alternative word for whore. It is a much more playful insult with a lot less negativity. Consider someone being an idiot. To express how you feel about the behaviour someone might call them 'a fucking spastic', which is wrong on many levels and carries a lot of venom. An alternative would be to call them 'a nincompoop'. Whilst also carrying the same basic meaning, it is done in a much milder, almost affectionate way.

As with nincompoop, as with trollop.

As for the story, it smells suspiciously fake to me...

This Time on Philosophy

This is NOT a thread about religion. No affirming Jesus as divine-ergo-correct, we're just comparing philosophies. If you want to argue the miracles are somehow parabolic--ie, that the Bread/Loaves one demonstrates a tenant of his philosophy-fair game, but no arguing on whether or not he "did it." So let's play the Jeffersonian game and just compare arguably the West's two most important philosophic influences--Socrates or Jesus, who has the better life view?

I've recently criticized Barack Obama rather severely. He deserved every letter of it. The alternative? I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jon Huntsman Jr. That's the guy I really hope (for the US at least) that he'll succeed this absolute clown of a President Obama.
