What is the point in "Anonymously + Without chat"?

As far as I understand "Diplomacy" game is all about negotiation. But I see many games here with no chat - what is the point?

Back into the swing of things

This Time on Philosophy

This is NOT a thread about religion. No affirming Jesus as divine-ergo-correct, we're just comparing philosophies. If you want to argue the miracles are somehow parabolic--ie, that the Bread/Loaves one demonstrates a tenant of his philosophy-fair game, but no arguing on whether or not he "did it." So let's play the Jeffersonian game and just compare arguably the West's two most important philosophic influences--Socrates or Jesus, who has the better life view?

What is the difference between a "multi" and a "duplicate" ?

Duplicate is someone who made another account due to issues with their first, or occasionally with new players who misspelled their account name and immediately abandoned it for a new one. Duplicate basically means no punishment for some kind of honest mistake or problem.

I would assume he's asking because of the member I banned yesterday and left duplicate as the reason. That member is now back to using this first account since we were able to resolve the issue with his original account. There was no rule offense that anyone need be concerned about.

@ Lando: It was a banning reason I had never seen before and I was puzzled by it. I could not immediately think of a difference between a duplicate and a multi. So I asked. Ok?

multi meta normally means we know they were one or the other but didn't bother answering when emailed. So instead of wasting time figuring out if it was an idiot with multiple accounts or multiple idiots with an account each we just ban them. Although sometimes, yes, we get multi's who are also metagaming with friends.

There were a string of fake accounts that were created with characters that looked like other characters in order to confuse their identity. While that account looks like Invictus with a capital i, it's actually lnvictus with a lowercase "L". He was banned for impersonating another member.

And, just to be perfectly clear. Invictus was in no way suspected of also controlling the Lnvictus account.

Which is why accusations are not allowed in the forum, because even the most seemingly obvious case of cheating can be the opposite of what it appears.

I think I remember xcurleyfries making a CiviIDisorderGermany account once. When we had those accounts for when 7 people didn't join a game. That was before the forum changed to a serif font though, and you really couldn't tell the difference.

My favorite was back when there was no confirmation to join a game; if you clicked the link, you joined the game and there was no way to leave.

People would post on the Forum asking for advice about a game and trick a bunch of people into joining. Those were the days...

Been diagnosed with a painful hernia

so... for those official theorists i think i can still give you more on 9/11 because this one obviously did have high ranking american official involvement and because it was so significant to the world. and it shows how coverups are possible that involve academia, government and the media working on concert.

After Obama

I've recently criticized Barack Obama rather severely. He deserved every letter of it. The alternative? I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jon Huntsman Jr. That's the guy I really hope (for the US at least) that he'll succeed this absolute clown of a President Obama.

Daily Bible Reading

There used to be a thread about daily Bible reading, did it manage to achieve anything or change anyones lives for the better? If not what was the point of doing it? Why would a person read the same book every day?
