What is the point in "Anonymously + Without chat"?
As far as I understand "Diplomacy" game is all about negotiation. But I see many games here with no chat - what is the point?

This Time on Philosophy
This is NOT a thread about religion. No affirming Jesus as divine-ergo-correct, we're just comparing philosophies. If you want to argue the miracles are somehow parabolic--ie, that the Bread/Loaves one demonstrates a tenant of his philosophy-fair game, but no arguing on whether or not he "did it." So let's play the Jeffersonian game and just compare arguably the West's two most important philosophic influences--Socrates or Jesus, who has the better life view?

Emac. Before you start treating an entire class of citizens like criminals for having a mental illness, at least do us the favor of making sure that the acts you're referring to were actually committed by people diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. Sandy Hook was not. Virginia Tech was not. They had other mental health diagnoses, not paranoid schizophrenia. In other cases, the mental health records have not been fully revealed, and for good reason. One of the many reasons your draconian plan will not work is because mental health information is not a matter of public record. Also, this disease can only be diagnosed during adulthood, so the effectiveness of singling out paranoid schizophrenics when it comes to cases of young adults shooting up schools will be nil.

many shooters are on SSRI's though.
steephie22 (182 D(S))

Some guys here are rather naive. If I were a paranoid schizophrenic and police were allowed to search my house at any time, I would probably strike first. And hell, the police wouldn't be able to genuinely have any moral authority. They are the ones who took away my rights.

I bet that if that plan somehow miraculously comes through, you'll discover a new meaning to the word 'mass murder'.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
19 Sep 13 UTC
Hell, if the police would do such a search just because someone is paranoid and has a split personality, I would have a hard time choosing between a shooting the cops in the vest or through the head.

It's the kind of breaking of rights that justifies a civil war more than any of the other wars the US fought IMO.

Besides, there is simply no advantage in breaking those rights. Unless you like mass murders. If so, you're the one who should be denied his rights.

Putin, before you begin obfuscating, misrepresenting, and ranting as you always do remember how transparent you are.
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
Steephie, if you were paranoid schizo you would think the police were already searching your home when they aren't.
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
No problem with you people who don't want to restrict the rights of paranoid schizo's as long as you don't make the completely false argument that we should restrict guns ownership because of the slaughters that paranoid schizo's perpetrate. If you can live with the collateral damage of these individuals slaughtering innocents in their spree of mass shootings oh well.
Putin33 (111 D)

not that Putin's wonderful arguments coming from Putin should matter at all, but if a past comment of his is that odious to you, Emac, I submit the exact same questions and arguments he does in the hope that you'll actually answer them this time

where's the evidence that (a) the people you were referencing are schizophrenics and (b) that schizophrenics are statistically significantly more likely to commit mass murders than non-schizophrenics?
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
President Eden, do you know anything about Putin's Holodomor denial? If not then why would you comment on it? Are you a Putin apologist? Do you not look at the links already provided in the thread? Do you simply post to hear your keyboard keys bang?

I'm not even going to dignify the first two questions with a response, beyond telling you that if you had a clue what you were talking about you wouldn't need to ask the question.

And sure. "Apologist" in the sense that you're bringing up entirely irrelevant incidents from years ago to justify ignoring compelling questions and arguments levied to you by Putin, sure. I am a proud apologist of civility and logically sound discussion.
Putin33 (111 D)
19 Sep 13 UTC
That's not an answer. On what basis do you make the claim that the Sandy Hook & Va Tech shooters had paranoid schizophrenia?
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
Of course the answer President Eden is you are completely ignorant of Putin's extensive and pathological Holodomor denial in this very forum yet you post about it saying "a past comment" when the fact is he filled an entire thread with his denial. Do you often comment on subjects you refuse to inform yourself on?
President Eden (2750 D)
19 Sep 13 UTC

Do you? I was arguing with him about it when he first made the statement.

That was also two years ago, and entirely irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Stop dickriding my past debates on here so you can ad hominem your way out of legitimate points being raised against you.
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
In fact it is a direct answer, but as usual Putin you deny facts staring you in the face, just like you are a Holodomor denier, and you deny the collapse of communism, and anything else that doesn't fit your deluded world view.

No President Eden, it was not two years ago. You again have the facts entirely incorrect. You call my stating facts and presenting evidence of the Holodomor to a denier an "argument." What a total mischaracterization. You previously said if I was bothered by a "comment" when you not admit it was much more than a comment. Your integrity and credibility on the matter is demolished by your own posts PE.
Putin33 (111 D)
19 Sep 13 UTC
The link you gave only said that the individuals had mental health issues, not schizophrenia, paranoid or otherwise.

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/we-can-work-it-out/201212/was-adam-lanza-undiagnosed-schizophrenic
So you're going off of the theorizing of someone who, while an expert in the field, had no direct interaction with the shooter and could at best cite anecdotal evidence which, although persuasive as an argument in favor of the shooter having some mental disorder, doesn't definitively establish that the shooter had schizophrenia.

Your evidence is lacking.

---

And yes, it was two years ago (more accurately 2.5). I was there, on the other side of the argument. This was before you even joined, so I find it amusing that you intend to correct my recollection of events that occurred several months before you were even around to witness them
Emac (0 DX)

Putin, I've provided numerous links, but you fail to identify which one you refer to. This is characteristic of your pathological disingenuous behavior in posting on this board. Did you learn nothing in your months away? Why did you bother to leave if you weren't going to change at all. Remember also that you posted directly to me before I posted anything to you. You obviously still have gotten over the fact that I refused to let you deny the Holodomor or call the Mexican American War and act of American aggression. Try to be truthful and post with integrity Putin as hard as that is for you.
And now you're using the conjecture of a relationship therapist to diagnose someone. Geez, at least your first link was to an expert in a relevant field.
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
Who is an "expert in the field?" What field? Who are you speaking of PE? My evidence isn't lacking at all. In fact you don't even specifically identify what evidence is lacking. What a disingenuous way to claim to make a point.
I think the lady doth protest too much wrt integrity
If you didn't have the reading comprehension of an ant, everything that's been posted in here would be perfectly clear to you.
Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
As a matter of fact PE you are again incorrect. I exposed Putin as a Holodomor denier less than two years ago.

Emac (0 DX)
19 Sep 13 UTC
You still haven't bothered to identify the link you criticize PE. Of course it is because you haven't read any of them. Just like you claimed to know of my exposure of Putin's Holodmor denial when you did not know. What else do you post about from ignorance?

This psychiatrist never met with Cho and admits that not enough information is there to confirm such a diagnosis. There are many reasons for believing the paranoid schizophrenic diagnosis is inappropriate.

1 - Did not suffer from hallucinations.
2 - Delusionary thinking is not bizarre, meaning the delusions of persecution are not implausible.
3 - Thinking was not disordered.

After Obama
I've recently criticized Barack Obama rather severely. He deserved every letter of it. The alternative? I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jon Huntsman Jr. That's the guy I really hope (for the US at least) that he'll succeed this absolute clown of a President Obama.
