you know that Edi Character is a big unknown ... he doesn't use his real name, he is virtually unknown in the world of Diplomacy and would be very hard to trackdown if he was doing something questionable or illigitamate. I can see why you would be concerned Diplofool1824!

Does it matter how good he is? I would accuse MarekP of stalking if he did it!

And on the note of whether to ban him or not, if you've asked him to stop asking for all your personal info and he does NOT, then complain by email to moderators or something and get them to look at it individually.

A few points here...
1. I asked him for his name... I ask everyone for their name, I do not stalk them for it... in fact on this Forum when Diplomat1824 said he would answer any question put to him...I asked him then for his name

2. I introduce myself to everyone

3. I ask where people are and if they are interested in going to FtF events or local contacts.

4. I always ask other people in the game what they know about the other players. In fact everyone should ask about everyone in the game.

I moved defensively because it made no sense to me that you moved from Galicia to Vienna and felt that it was going to move to Tyrolia. Also you have given me no feed back on any plans to deal with the Turks and instead you are supporting him to get stronger.

Here is my problem as Italy:
Austria and Turkey are allied against Russia. The alliance method there has Turkey building three units this turn and Serbia is still neutral. the Turks are not talking to me.
Austria is telling me that he has no alliance with the Turks but has supported him for the last two turns.
I asked Austria repeatedly what they are going to do about all this and I have not gotten any specific responses.
What I am being told is that Russia and Austria agreed to a DMZ in Galicia which is why Austria moved away. However at the same time Austria supports Turkey into a Russian home supply center and is content to have Turkey build three.
I have a problem matching up the actions and the agreements.
Additionally I have asked you various direct questions and you ignore them.
So while I am going to build a fleet and I am willing to fight the Turks with you
I would like to see and hear from Austria some willingness to do just that.
After all fighting Russia with Turkey, but keeping Galica as a DMZ , and not having an alliance with Turkey but supporting him against Sevastopol, is just not something that makes sense to us.
So tell me where do we go from here as I am willing to listen but I also watch.
And again, who are you and where are you and do you like to play the game Face to Face at game conventions and the like?

Fleet Trieste to Albania
Army Budapest to Serbia
Army Rumania to Bulgaria
Army Vienna to Trieste
and then ask me to move back from Tyrolia? or we could do a Key Lepanto sort of variation where I go through Trieste in the Spring to go to Serbia which allows you to move Vienna to Galicia and shift Budapest to Rumania
and Rumania down to Bulgaria/

One other thing, I do this take this very seriously, and I have asked the other players to pause the game. It is unfortunate but there you have it. I especially feel bad for the Turkish player who I suspect is a youngster and this may not be a great display of hobby behavior.

I can't see the issue here. If someone asks me for my name and phone number on the internet, I can say yes or no. There is nothing creepy about it at all.

Sigh, this is ridiculous.

Asking people contact infromation and whether they play ftf is just what silly Edi does. He does it because once in a while he can add a contact to his his ever growing and bewilderingly large number of contacts in the 'hobby'.

None of the complaints by diplomat are valid, and it would be stupid and destructive for Edi to vacate the game in question.

Oh, and to Daniel-San: Communicating out of the site is NOT cheating. Some might regard it as an unfair advantage over other players, but there is no rule against, not on the FAQ, not in the rules section, not anywhere.

Or do you have documentation to back up your claim?

@ Friendly Sword, on all the other sites i play on, if it's discovered, then the players are banned.
that's what press is for.
And asking for or disclosing usernames gets you tossed from the games, as they're based on anonymity....

Obviously this site does not follow the same rules of fair play.
