I'm starting to think that nobody in this tournament is any good at gunboat.

I don't know to what extent the commentary is sarcastic, but I personally believe that a well-played gunboat game between players of high skill should result in a draw.

Solo wins usually happen when someone makes an avoidable mistake, someone misses a turn somewhere, or someone throws the game on purpose.

I'd have thought I'd read your name within the top 14, at least.

I would assume the longer the game, the less likely the solo (i.e. the longer the game goes on the more likely players have been knocked out making it easier to block the solo). I suspect we won't see more than a handful of solos from now until all games are finished.

It wouldn't affect anonimity until the last few games remained anyway, and even then only for the very last game you would know for sure who was there. That doesn't leave much scope for metagaming.
