Personally, I'm immediately suspicious of playing games with accounts that were created that very day or just the day before, especially if there are more than one account in the game with the same date of creation.

The problem with anon gunboat is you don't know when the accounts were created and you can't be sure your not up against a multi or just a couple of very experienced 'boaters.

I remember someone on the forums threatened to report me and Lando for multiaccounting because our AI alliance shredded France, Russia and Turkey. lol

I'm sure the mods would get a kick out of that.

I think they took it back once the game ended, but obviously nothing ever came of it if not.

And yeah, I generally don't do gunboat here anymore unless the game is password protected. There was a guy VanHaylen that did almost exclusively live anon gunboats and cheated his way into the top 20 in GR or some shit before the mods finally caught him. A lot of the really good gunboaters that I know generally will set up PP games so it works out.

And for games against randoms I prefer to just download DAIDE. If you turn the difficulty up beyond the base level the AI is smarter than about 60-70% of the randoms you'll find here, no lie. It's a great way to weed out that one incompetent jackass that plays for an 8-SC strong second in a WTA gunboat game.

What is really needed is some kind of indicator in new anon games. Anyone with an account over 6? months old gets a green check next to their name, anyone with more then 2(?)% of games as resigns gets a red check. It wouldn't break anonymity because the qualifications are so broad.
