Having read your posts more carefully, obiwan, I have to strenuously disagree with your argument against the Founding Fathers. Sure, they lived in a different time. The point is, they adapted incredibly well to that time, figured it out, understood human nature, and realized how to proceed best at that time.
To suggest that they would fail to do so again because times have changed is to suggest that they only succeeded then because they were unthinking automatons, programmed to take certain actions, and that those actions fortuitously worked at that time. This, with respect, is laughable. There is every reason to think that Hamilton, e.g., would figure out a new time just as well as that time (something he was INCREDIBLY good at), and govern well now, just as he governed well then. Yes, of course, he'd make different specific decisions.
