Italy why the hell did you support France into tri giving him the solo?
Turkey proved that he didn't want to attack you anymore so your participation in the final draw was secured.
Jesus that's what I call stupidity.

Subs needed
Hey all, I'm looking for 3 subs for the Masters tournament. It's currently stalled, and lots of players are (rightfully) frustrated. It's two games at most and they'd be starting ASAP. Reliable, experienced players preferred.

For Profit Colleges over Public Funded Colleges
An illuminating argument put forth by Andrew Rosen in a new book called "Change.edu." He puts for the argument that publicly funded universities no longer see students as their customers, and that this accounts for the glaring failure of America's publicly funded higher education system.

Filtering players
Is there any way to filter out players without making the bet stupidly large?
I'm in a world game where South Africa, Ghana, Libya and Argentina have given up almost from the first round giving FA and Kenya a massive advantage.

It has been happening in other games too.

To PhD or not to PhD.
As my education is finished in one year, my interest is shifted to possible future employers. Since I'm still undecided about doing a PhD and I know there are quite a lot people here doing/having done them, I have a small question for all of you: Why did you choose to (not) do a PhD? Which factor played and important role and which only a minor one?

Syria
I know everyone has their shit to say about humanitarian intervention. Mine is: this has gotten far too bad, it is time to intervene, despite the risks.

If any? The US government just admitted Al Qaeda is responsible for attacks and is supporting the rebels. The admitted al Qaeda military leader of the Libyan "peaceful protests", Belhadj, has openly held high level meetings with the "Free Syrian Army" and is said to have as many as 1600 Libyan mercenaries fighting against the Syrian government. According to the Iraqi government, scores of Iraqi jihadists have flooded into Syria. The Turkish puppet Syrian National Council is comprised of the Muslim Brotherhood and has high profile connections with fellow extremist clerics from Qatar and elsewhere.
http://frontpagemag.com/2011/11/11/syrian-opposition-council-means-with-extremist-cleric/

The Syrian Muslim Brotherhood are quite frank in their open talk of crushing any non-Muslims once their revolution is complete.

"It is time to come back home and rule the Syrian Muslim people who live under the umbrella of the secular regime that supports and protects the principles of tolerance, and guarantees the freedom of thinking and embracing whatever belief the people choose. Such a freedom was the main reason that made the other non-Muslim sects of the Syrian people able to step forward and have a rank and a good contribution in the Syrian life, and also share the wealth with the Muslims on their own land.

It is time for us to come back and force all the other non-Muslim sects to shrink and step back. These sects are the infidel Christians, the criminal Alawites and the infidel Druzes."

We have to make sure that the revolution will be pure Islamic, and with that no other sect would have a share of the credit after its success."

So, to be clear

If Assad used chemical weapons you would still support him? I'm not asking if you would support a military intervention (I don't under any circumstances besides a direct attack on us, wildly unlikely), I mean support for him personally. Would you continue to defend him here on the forum and champion him and his regime as "progressives", even if he used weapons which have been held to be 100% abhorrent for the better part of a century?

It's a simple question.

The US being the only country to nuke another country and the US being the only country to routinely use depleted uranium on its victims hasn't prevented you from being a cheerleader for American Empire, has it? Nor have the atrocities conducted by Syrian & Libyan rebels made you bat an eye about supporting the overthrow of progressive regimes in the region. Anything on behalf of US empire.

The difference is in Syria's case, it's a hypothetical, whereas with your beloved US military, it's reality. If Syria used chemical weapons against al Qaeda militants, I'd find it excessive, but I would consider the context of the attack. If it was the only method possible to prevent al Qaeda from coming power, a la Libya, I could not judge Assad too harshly.

Incidentally, your al Qaeda friends in Libya announced that they really really hate gays at the UN. Score another point for 'humanitarian intervention'.

"And it's your US military too. Show some respect."

Respect? http://www.jewishjournal.com/nation/article/marines_ss_photo_condemned_by_jewish_groups_20120210/

Ah I see, when the US military uses WMDs on people, we need to show respect.

"Would you continue to support Assad if he used chemical weapons?"

I already answered your troll. Since you insist on 'respect' for the Waffen SS loving, depleted uranium using US military, this whole hypothetical exercise is just grandstanding as usual by you.

"two caricatures battling it out against one another."

Didn't you leave?
obviously not
Invictus (240 D)
16 Feb 12 UTC
I see now you did respond. I was reading this in the library between classes and must have missed it. The contempt for our military was also more than a little distracting. I mean, Waffen SS loving?

So there we have it. Putin33 would not abandon his support of Assad if Assad were to use chemical weapons. This may be a hypothetical, but Syria does have a large stockpile of chemical weapons and if the situation gets more desperate they very well could be used.

He also doesn't seem to know how to use "troll" correctly in a sentence.
