Are countries assigned randomly?
New to this site here, so sorry if this is answered elsewhere that I didn't find. Are countries assigned randomly when a game starts? (I'm noticing in the Championship Belt Game Series that xorxes always plays Austria and captainmeme always plays France, but have not found any setting for choosing a country or assigning preferences or anything.)

Uber is kind of cool
So, I dont actually plan to spend money. But I downloaded this cool app called uber. I think its like, taxi cabs or toy cars or something. But they move. They wiggle around and travel places on this cool map that looks a little like real life. I watched this one car strolling down a highway. This is neat. How do I take over one of these cartoon car thingys

Hiliary rigged her nomination
Former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile has come out exposing the Clinton campaign of taking over the DNC prior to her getting the nomination as the party's candidate which gave Clinton the control over the party's finances, strategy and all the money raised.

Incomplete orders on the small preview map are a problem.
Not all orders (most notably support orders) are shown on the small preview map of a game and, especially in Gunboat, this is pretty problematic.

Former Trump friend Manafort has 3 different US passports under his own name and at least one under a fake name that's he's used to travel and possibly move money. The first to be indicted and a step up the ladder of Republican lies about what was happening during the election campaign.

Axis & Allies general discussion thread
See title. I started playing it about a month ago. It's quite fun and a very different challenge from Diplomacy. I'm still getting my head wrapped around the editions, but I believe my group plays the "Classic" version (Spring 1942 start and there are no artillery, destroyers, etc.)

A friend and I are also working on a "present-day" version.

Turkey in a Gravy boat
So given Turkey looks juicy but its dry, I think a solution could be to just dip the turkey in a gravy boat. in a GB, I think dryness is minimized. I want it to be moist.

There is a group of people who have a facility in which hey are making a poison that will kill many people. You discover this and recognize left to continue they will in fact kill many people

A) should the facility be destroyed by you, someone else, a government
B) do you go ask the people to stop and if they refuse ask again
C) do you do nothing because it's their private property and destroying someone else's property is wrong?
HBbuc (103 D)

Who specifically are they killing? Is it during a war where they are on one side and you are on the other? Are you on the same side? So many other things need to be answered.

If the poison gets out to the public it’s not particularly private, is it?
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
If they’re putting poison into MY food, then they’re the ones tampering with private property, eh?
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
If, however, they’re using the poison to defend against home invaders, I’ll just laugh at them and tell them they should’ve gotten guns.
TrPrado (461 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
If they make it to sell, and everyone they sell it to uses it for rats, I’ll simply laugh at you for thinking this was a good analogy to gun crime.
Generally, governments have the monopoly on the legitimate use of force. Vigilante justice is often not justice at all, regardless of how noble superhero movies make it look.

That's only one element of the question, however. Obviously, non-violent means to resolve the issue should be exhausted first. Asking them to stop, with legal backing (ie. suing) is generally the first step.

Ogion (3817 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
Well, now that you raise it, why would it matter whether it is a terrorist group proposing to poison a water supply, a corporation proposing to poison the water supply, or a government entity proposing to poison the water supply? I'd also add governments engaged in genocide. What role and duties do individuals have to take action against ethnic cleasoning campaigns?

Certainly, the corporations rendering the planet unlivable fall within this category also. Good point.

@Ogion
Context is important. You can't just add whatever you want whenever you want to your hypothetical scenario. Either you include the specifics in your OP, or take people's assumptions based on the limited information you gave at face value. Moving the bar halfway through makes your réfutations of people's responses meaningless.
Fluminator (1500 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC

Saying you'd save the kid does not mean life doesn't start at conception. Not only did you fail logic class, you also failed reading comprehension. You're the reason universities are being looked down upon right now.
Ogion (3817 D)

What, because people with only rudimentary grasp of reason don't like being shown up? Truth hurts, Vicki

The fact is it shows that no one values any embryo at 1/1000 a person, which is to say, we aren't dealing with a person. This idea that "life" begins at conception is silly. The eggs and sperm are alive too so clearly it doesn't "begin" with conception if they're already alive.

The point is that equating an embryo to a person is stupid

@peregrime falcon

Is it important? If that's your assertion, please explain why. Why is having people killed by a terrorist group to be treated differently than groups of inncocent people killed by a government or by a corporation? That's your assertion. Prove it up!

I see this question is of the same genre.

I discover the poison they are making will kill (painlessly) anyone who eats meat. I am a vegan and believe that meat eaters are destroying the planet
I join them and provide them with a distribution network so that the poison gets to more people.
100 years later the story of the group an I is taught in primary schools and we are revered as heroes.

Maybe Trump is a secretly "unorthodox" chap. Like J. Edgar Hoover was. Look at that hairdo of Trump's, that's not a real old school heterosexual huntin' fishin' shootin' blokes hair style, it's some pompadour like affectation more suited to an aging "Queen"... Given Trump's bloated physique it's got to have been some time since he has had a direct line of sight on his own membrum virilis. Maybe "MAGA" contains secret coded messages, Make America Gay Always. Make America Green Again.
