Just food for thought, I didn't read the link nor did I read past obi's #6 on the 3rd post, but using tragedies for political gain is not classless at all. In fact, politics are directly involved with how frequently shootings occur. It brings up the gun control debate again, is it classless to have a debate on gun control because of a horrific shooting? Why can't that be expanded to bashing the other side of the aisle because of their policies? (from either side, Republicans dishing it out or Democrats) It's the next natural progression. It's like saying that 9/11 was a tragedy, so political discussion about the Middle East cannot involve 9/11, because that is taking advantage of a tragedy for political points. It's flawed logic, because the two work together to prevent or promote similar tragedies from happening in the future, and if it's ignored because the issue is too touchy then the status quo just remains.
Again, I didn't read the article, so I don't know what was going on there, nor do I know if anybody already posted these thoughts in the thread already, but making generalizations that people shouldn't use tragedies for political gain is just incorrect, and it improves absolutely nothing.
