Multiple issue
I am currently engaged in a game where a multiple has been banned. In this instance the multiple has a combined 48 D. Players in the game, who have an admittedly weaker position, are asking for a draw.

I need advice improving my game.
This keeps happening...I get off to a decent start then I get trashed.
This is seriously affecting my GR and points (of course, I am losing).
I might need a mentor. Sigh, after nearly 150 games here.

Can a mod force me CD?
to be honest i'd like a force-cd on all the games i'm currently playing. but if not that, at least this one gameID=81266&msgCountryID=0
i just signed up to take over, but i'm an idiot i thought it was a live game for some reason. so that was an oversight on my part.
even if i were still signing up for non-live games they are not even speaking english there. can i get a cd?

Finding out the identity of Players who "Leave" and are then replaced
Having just finished an Anon game, we had a player who "Left". A new player then joins. A number of questions arise:
1. Is GR calculated on the original player or the new player. Must be the original player, otherwise this a way to manage the rankings.
2. But if this information is readily available, is there any way to find out who the original player was?

Game 4: Exile
Congrats Czech - a great victory.
@jmeyers - once you came straight for me you left me with little choice but to return the favour. My goals in this game involved seeing you destroyed, which was accomplished, I was hopeful that i could reach a draw but knew it was unlikely. Not sure how else it could have been played... probably I didn't do the best job trying to stop Turkey when I could have ... sorry all.

Thank you, Lando. And yes, congrats to The Czech. Inspirational play. I will gather my thoughts for this EOG and contribute soon.
lol, jmeyers, nothing personal, obviously.

Repost:
Just briefly went through game 4. What was Italy thinking supporting Turkey into Tyrr S? StP was lost and you guys needed to defend the southern SCs. A fleet in Baltic would have defended Berlin, Denmark def Sweden, and Italy would have had to be included in the draw.

Congrats to the Czech however. Well played!

gg, Czech- Zultar- I figured that F(Mar) was moving to Gulf of Lyons and a would be in position to support hold F(Tyrr) the next year. Have France in Tyrr is not the stalemate position and St. Pete's would eventually fall. It never crossed my mind that Turkey would get Norway too! Sorry all for not tapping Apu that last season. However, I think France picked an awful lot of enemies as he surged towards the solo. Taking Venice and destabalizing Austria gave Turkey the openning he needed in order to become a contender for the solo.

autumn 1910 when Germany destroyed his units in StP and Prussia, StP was lost.
Spring 1911: Tunis to Ion, Tyrr SH Naples, Rome SH Naples, and Tus SH Pie. It was France's game to lose at that point, and I think he would have kept you on for the draw.
Needless to say, I'm a bit unhappy with how this ended. I'll post a full EOG later.
Barn3tt (41969 D)

Zultar, I find it odd that you focus on Tyrr. Norway was the key center, the unusual center, that handed Turkey the solo. There's no reason why Norway should have been lost. It was lost after Tyrr. I did not predict it nor should I have.
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
22 Feb 12 UTC
I focused on Tyrr because Germany's position was unstable and so it was hard to count on France/Germany securing that front. The situation in the south, however, was a different story. It was set and game down south. Czech could not have won the game until he got into Tyrr and was able to get Naples and Rome.
That's just my take.
Barn3tt (41969 D)

I was more wary of France. Perhaps too much of the previoius game turns came into play as I was wary of France.. In letting, the Turk into Tyrr I made it impossible for France to take Tunis and the Turk would not have moved on me, I believe, unless Norway fell. Which, as I said, right or wrong, I did not believe would have happen.
My impression right to the end was that France was the big threat. I thought Turkey was crazy for not drawing. I was wrong.
Mujus (1495 D(B))

I was surprised that France didn't support himself to Norway to counter the two that Turkey could bring to bear. But everything's clear in hindsight.

Tough game for me (Austria). not much to say except that I leaped out to too great a start and did not count on Italy coming after me the way he did when he did. really just a case of growing too fast for my own good.

well done Czech - great come-back from 3 centers to win it... quite impressive.
Well then, good game. Obviously it was mine to lose for a while, and lose it I did. Not to take anything away from the Czech, who did take advantage quite well... but I definitely lost this. Not to be overdramatic. Lulz.

I'd say my biggest mistake, as far as overall strategy, was to take a shot at Tunis early on before England and Germany were totally dead. England put up a hell of a fight... I don't know why I thought it would go easier. My underlying assumption after I had Germany secured was that I could count on Scandinavia -- which seems hilarious now that we see the final map. But I figured the whole time that once I finished off England I was guaranteed Norway, Sweden, and St. Petersburg. The way Russia and Germany had fragmented there would make it easy.

Which leads to the two things that happened that did annoy me, and make me believe there's enough blame to go around for the lack of a draw... I'm at least not 100% responsible, hooray?

1. Germany abandoning an easily defensible position in Scandinavia to try and take the German homeland back. I'm sorry, but this was insanely transparent, and I had always made sure I had enough armies nearby to combat the possibility. I figured it would be obvious that it would only hand more centers to Turkey, but I guess you figured that you going for your homeland would force me to defend Scandinavia from the Turks instead?

2. It's been said, but yeah... Tyrrhenian Sea. I could not believe Italy supported Turkey into it when my only Mediterranean fleet was -- I thought -- fairly obviously there to stop Turkey's advance. Maybe I hadn't actually clicked "Draw" yet, I can't remember, but still... come on.

Anyway, all in all it was still a good game... and definitely a learning experience.
I think I should add that it's been said IRL that perhaps the reason I flew a bit too high to the sun in this game was that I was a little too high. I think there may be some truth to this?
@TWA ... I thought about that in the game but couldn't decide what to do. I figured you may understand that you needed to get to Scandinavia and let me keep a place in BER. Clearly turned out wrong ....
Yeah... It seems like we all had our own specific sets of assumptions about what the other players might do, and unfortunately there wasn't much overlap. Such a mess.
I also acknowledge that I could have bounced Turkey with a support in Norway.... But it would have meant losing Denmark, which I viewed as key to holding Berlin; with a German unit in Denmark continuously bouncing Kiel I would never be able to hold the German capitol. AND on that move I even gave England a support back into Norway from Skag, but no, they just had to try to help Germany take Denmark...

I've been awake all night thinking about this, obviously.

Awkward, you gave me a support back?? I didn't even look. Awww, thanks man. I guess when you're not single-mindedly hounding your enemies to ground, you're a pretty good guy, eh? :-)

Just back from my absence and trying to catch up.
@Lando
Nothing personal -- Russia is by far and away my worst gunboat country and I thought I'd try something new to try and shake it up. Started out ok, but then Austria and England both put the pressure on (which, for the record, I didn't think were great choices), and that completely killed my momentum against Germany. You [Lando] did well to slaughter me in the endgame, but I think I had that coming ever since England went to BAR and Austria went to UKR.

Congrats Czech on a very nice win -- one for the trophy cabinet, that.

after someone posted a message using my name as a noun, i decided to see what bolshoi means in english. unfortunately through google and wikipedia i learned that bolshoi in english typically means an opera, ballet, drama theatre and an 80's group from london. does this information raise concerns about my sexuality. and if so should i create a new account?
