World Diplomacy map balance
I'm in two games of World Diplomacy; one as China and the other as USA. Both of these countries have the same problem: They are surrounded by countries, and those countries have no incentive to go anywhere else because all the SC is bordering China/USA, and they don't really have secure SC.

Don't get me started on USA. All the SC a territory away from each other, unable to support. I know it's hard to balance a map for 20 people, but it's ridiculous.

Homophobia?
On a related, but perhaps more serious note, I see that Stephen Fry and his new husband have at a problem on their Honduran honeymoon.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11672513/Stephen-Frys-honeymoon-wrecked-by-homophobia.html

Shoud they have shown more consideration to local sensibilities? Should we condemn Honduran and by extension, for example, Pakistani, homophobia in the forthright terms we use in the UK or the USA? I am not sure, what do people think?

In between stabbing out eyes and large black tarps
I understand 1st amendment rights allow free speech, and I know censorship is a slippery slope to slimy stalinism, but isn't 'instant coverage' of news causing/accentuating many of the 'racial' issues we have nowadays. what restrictions COULD we put in place???

Christian neighbours outraged by "relentless" gayness.
This caused me to lol

I don't see anyone making generalised accusations against theists in this thread. Heck, I have some Christian friends on FB who found the letter pretty lol-worthy and are amused by the response.

Yes I agree I don't directly see that either. Perhaps I have it wrong, if so I apologise. However, I think that one must also take into account people's previously very vigerously stated views.

I'm Christian, and more offended by the letter than the response. But the lady needs to be clear. She isn't responding with "love" like she says. She's giving them a big middle finger. Which she has every right to do.

"I don't see ANY humor in it. I an frankly fail to see why anyone would. It's rather pathetic, on BOTH sides of the argument. A douchebag neighbor doesn't like someone's decoration. And the response is that the douchbag bitch with the decoration now seeks to be that much more offensive to the person they offended. And this is humorous? Because NEITHER PERSON is capable of behaving in a civil manner?

I serously have to call into question any douchebag that thinks EITHER actor in this play was behaving properly, or that anything in this is cause for humor."

This amuses me. I only wish it were funny and not pathetic.

Based on the content of the article: A woman, minding her own business on her own property, puts out some nice rainbow pattern decorative lamps. Another woman has a problem with these decorations writes the first woman a letter telling the first she needs to stop doing what she's doing. The second woman has no legal authority to do so, but she bases her complaint on a moral aversion to someone being "relentlessly gay" because she is a "Christian." The first woman, well within her rights (based on the article), decides she wants to expand her garden decorations in a fashion that pleases her and goes public with a request for funding which goes viral and nets some serious cash, thus becoming a newsworthy story.

krellin, negative-attention-seeking troll-become-victim that he is, immediately joins the fray and attempts to pre-emptively derail the conversation. He either deliberately or cluelessly ignores THE VERY FIRST SENTENCE BY THE OP and makes accusations toward the poster about having ulterior motives.

Haven't we seen this a thousand times over from krellin? He admits it as much.

But that's not what amuses me.

Whenever anyone criticizes krellin, let alone makes a valid point which he disagrees with, he goes off the deep end (well, he starts off the deep end) and wildly accuses, vulgarly curses and childishly name-calls. Aside from the cursing, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN THE ARTICLE. Person minds their own business and puts out something for the world to consider. Rabid busybody attacks them for existing. No wonder it hit him so hard because it's exactly his modus operandi, EVERY TIME.

The thing that really betrays krellin's nature though is that he claims the gardener was being offensive. Let's read his words again carefully:

"A douchebag neighbor doesn't like someone's decoration. And the response is that the douchbag bitch with the decoration now seeks to be that much more offensive to the person they offended."

krellin cites a point in his own special way against the complaining "neighbor." But he escalates AGAINST THE VICTIM by calling her "bitch" and saying she was "offensive" and agreeing with the neighbor who was "offended."

Seriously?

Anyway, what amuses me most is that krellin constantly destroys any credibility he may accumulate on this forum. krellin claims to have trolled the OP, but the hilarious thing is that the OP *ACTUALLY AND UNINTENTIONALLY* trolled krellin. Who really won this battle?

And I'll just leave this here for reference:
"When in doubt about whether posting something is allowed, remember your first responsibility: use common sense and respect other players!"
