I am in a game (Man the Torpedoes!) with a bunch of friends/acquaintances and one of the users was just banned for metagaming. He is not metagaming (at least not in this game for sure) so how can we restore his access so that we can continue the game?

So I jist watched the first Hunger Games
For a movie based on a teen book, it was much better than expected. Outstanding concept. Very good execution. Even the required teen "love triangle" seems more like a potential misunderstanding and political ploy than the Team what's or whoever bullshit of the Twilight series.

Mujus (1495 D(B))

It's been so cold here in Southern California--overnight lows in the low 40s. It really helps that it got up to 70 by 10:30 and 77 this afternoon though. :-)

STFU, Mujus! :-) Your lows are Cincinnati's highs!

"Your lows are Cincinnati's highs"
You could just as easily be talking about California's weather, or its drug culture. :P

-15 this morning with 30 cm of snow. Its up to -2 degrees now and is raining. Good ole Halifax. Thankfully I'm leaving for colder climes tomorrow, were it has the decency to not rain in the winter.

Days too short! It's giving me headaches and I'm constantly eating!
Just saying I'm in the middle of North Dakota so no one here can complain to me about the cold weather -35 earlier today high of -5

Fahrenheit? That's fucking cold! What's the wind-chill like?
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Dec 13 UTC
Let's not talk about the weather. High of 12 today and that's not counting the wind chill (I think it was a high of -1 with wind chill). Oh and we're getting more snow tomorrow.. oh yay -_- .

That's what most of you are describing. Mujus' description sounds good. I think I'll go to LA tomorrow.
2ndWhiteLine (2606 D(B))

"Wind chill" doesn't exist. Its a liberal conspiracy to control the temperature so that Americans use more energy for heating that we purchase from the Saudis in exchange for allowing Shari'a law in American elementary schools.
Mujus (1495 D(B))
16 Dec 13 UTC
Umm. So the morning after I posted that rather ungracious post about the temps here in Southern California, I woke up to a non-functional hot water heater. Brrr, a cold morning here, for sure!!!
Mujus (1495 D(B))
16 Dec 13 UTC
Maybe non-functioning would be more accurate. I still have hopes that it's an easy repair. *sigh*

Damned global warming...
Draugnar (0 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
But it's no longer called global warming. They call it "climate change" now so they can point to any variance as "man affecting his environment" even when the change is the exact opposite of what they expected.
kasimax (243 D)
16 Dec 13 UTC
@krellin, draugnar: http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/science/cold-snow-climate-change.html scroll down to "the arctic connection".
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
lol Wow, the fish are biting early today!

kasimax...yes, we know....cold, snowy weather is caused by global warming. Hot, dry weather is caused by global warming. A Bad hurricane season...and a non-existent hurricane season...ALL cause by global warming. We understand. Every possible weather permutation is caused by global warming. The growing arctic ice is global warming. The "missing heat" caused by the recent 10-15 years of cooling is caused by global warming. Yes yes yes...got it. Check check and check...
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
By the way, the sky is falling, too.

...which is odd, because you think all the excess heat would lift it up?!?!?
kasimax (243 D)
16 Dec 13 UTC
krellin, yeah, we know... a cold day in the winter refutes global warming. a normally warm summer refutes global warming and so on, sounds like a good line of reasoning.

did you actually read the article?
Draugnar (0 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
But, krellin, the earth is what is hot and the air is what is cold and we not hot stuff rises, so eventually the sky and earth will invert and we will all die as the earth disintegrates in pieces and rises up towards the ozone layer to fill the holes there caused by all those aerosol cans (remember that one?)
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
kasi - yeah, we know, and when global warming "scientists" cherry pick their data (from thermometers on black top) and only look at carefully selected windows of data that exaggerate the appearance of trends we can refute the reality of existence.

Yeah, we know, when the "heat goes missing" and reality doesn't align with our carefully programmed (for maximum damage...) computer models, we'll just claim we don't understand, come up with a new bullshit theory to keep our funding intact, but never, ever, ever give ground in our *political* fight...

Global warming stopped over a decade ago, kasi. Look it up. The excuse is that the heat is "hiding" somewhere...

Maybe it's on the other side of the Flat Earth...
kasimax (243 D)
16 Dec 13 UTC
http://blogs.e-rockford.com/applesauce/2013/08/09/the-confusing-connection-between-climate-change-and-cold-weather/#axzz2nepk15TT : "[talking about 2012] Among the highlights, the United States had its warmest year since the country began keeping records in 1895. Colorado, Montana, Nebraska and Wyoming had their driest years on record. Last summer, delivered the biggest wildfires in thirteen years, including the largest fire in New Mexico’s history (more than 460 square miles, or about the size of the city of Los Angeles)"

what do you think about this, krellin? is this just a normal deviation, while a cold winter is clear, hard evidence that there is no global warming?
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
Did you know that during the Medieval times, the earth was warmer than it is now?

I wonder what they did to all their fossil-fuel burning factories and aerosols?

Oh...I know...it must have been the fire-breathing dragons and magic that heated the earth back then...It *couldn't* have been a natural climate cycle!?!!?

I wonder if they had "hidden heat" back then, too, and kasi-maxipad deniers insisting the flat earthers were right, regardless of facts?
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
And kasi-macipad - NO, I didn't read your left-wing biased BLOG post. It is of no interest to anyone. Maybe I should go find some biased right-wing blogs that say your left-wing blog is a kook, and we can both have a link-fight with irrelevant.

You make me laugh with you funny posts though....right in line with *exactly* what I am saying. DESPITE EVIDENCE to the contrary that the earth isn't warming anymore, the alarmist insist it is, no matter the reality on the ground, and insist on such things as the earth is (suddenly and unexpectedly) hiding heat, and blah blah blah.

As for claims that the climate is much more volatile/more extreme/ blah blah blah...just doesn't hold up to reality. I'm sure the ghosts of Americans that lived through the dust Bowl would suggest you wouldn't know extreme weather swings if they bit you on the ass.
krellin (80 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
By the way -- 2013 Hurrican season -- NON-EXISTANT. Oh my...such extreme weather.

Funny how AWG one year causes horrible awful hurricanes...and then next year produces *none*...and you still insist that the same thing causes both.

Funny thing...just yesterday I put two pots of water over a fire...one boiled, the other froze. I blame....my delusions and denial of reality.

I'm so saddened by the state of science education in our country...
krellin (80 DX)

"The tome-sized NOAA report is a reminder that the global climate is extremely complex, and climate trends can’t be easily simplified."

BUT....even though NONE of our predictions ever come true, and even though our model suck ass, it's simple to us -- we **know for certain** what the climate is doing -- it's only complex if you disagree with us, in other words...
