Banned user
I am in a game (Man the Torpedoes!) with a bunch of friends/acquaintances and one of the users was just banned for metagaming. He is not metagaming (at least not in this game for sure) so how can we restore his access so that we can continue the game?

So I jist watched the first Hunger Games
For a movie based on a teen book, it was much better than expected. Outstanding concept. Very good execution. Even the required teen "love triangle" seems more like a potential misunderstanding and political ploy than the Team what's or whoever bullshit of the Twilight series.

I Just Made Life
In the form of the perfect grilled cheese with provolone and swiss and bacon stacked together in two perfectly even slices of Hawaiian bread.

Task complete.

Grilled cheese and ham is where its at.
Hamilton Brian (811 D(B))
15 Dec 13 UTC
I would have to say that my grilled cheese...complete with melted garlic butter for the bread slices, and caramelized onions, jalapeños, and garlic...along with some pedestrian cheddar and bleu cheese...is the heaven we should all have.

Tomatoes...too wet.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
15 Dec 13 UTC
Tomatoes make it soggy.

I cook mine in butter, I don't put it on afterwards though. Should I?

Bacon bits > ham - always.

Who puts bacon bits on a sandwich? Kids these days.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
15 Dec 13 UTC
You get bacon in every bite rather than only a couple when you hit the middle. It's a win-win situation.

Anyway, by bacon bits I simply mean bacon I tore up into 5 or 6 pieces.

Do kids nowadays still make Scooby-Doo sandwiches?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Most kids eat frozen pizza and tortilla chips. I'm one of the few that still eats sandwiches at all.
Hamilton Brian (811 D(B))
15 Dec 13 UTC
God, I wish my kids would eat real food. Their grandparents spoiled them...making them what THEY wanted. Oh well, I guess it's something we all go through. I wasn't a fan of real food and real cooking until I was really out on my own, and not in university, for the first time. The wallet says, "Fuck you, if you think you're going to get by eating this shite!"

capicolla in a grilled cheese > ham or bacon in a grilled cheese
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

The best grilled cheese is at the Cheese Factory in the Wisconsin Dells near Madison.
Leave your sandwich out for a couple weeks. Then you'll see new life.

Why the fuck are we arguing capacciola, ham, or bacon? Put all three on it, damnit! And while you are at it, throw a burger on the Geroge Forman and add it to the mix along with the carmelized onions, grilled mushrooms, and thousand island dressing. And leave those nasty ass tomatoes at the store, thank you very much. Then grill it. We call it a patty melt.

I'm getting hungry...

Why is *anyone* suggesting that any of the foods above constitute the end all and be all of dining pleasure? Don't misunderstand...I'm all for a good grilled ham and cheese or patty melt or whatever...but these is hardly represent the pinnacle of delight.

Someone start throwing out some *real* delicacies...

This was just the pinnacle of sandwiches.

The pinnacle of food is obviously turducken or turf and turf (filet mignon and prime rib with baked sweet potato and iceberg lettuce wedge with blue cheese, bacon, and Catalina French dressing).

Krellin... Not-So elk medium with bacon at Bub's in Carmel... that's the pinnacle of food in this world.

@Bo - I'm down for the elk burger. As far as the whole beef thing goes, I'd much rather take fresh-killed venison than beef - depending on where the cute little critter was slaughtered, what it's diet was, etc.

Don't know the PB&H till you try it. A nice kaiser roll with the peanut butter and prepared horseradish mixed together schmeared on is a savory piece of heaven.

Sounds gross. Then again, so does applesauce and tortilla chips but I love it.
Draugnar (0 DX)
16 Dec 13 UTC
But apple sauce is a great dip for all kinds of things, so applesauce and tortilla chips doesn't sound gross. Now a comparable comparison would be peanut butter and syrup blended together, which I love, and then layer potato chips in the bread for a little extra crunch.

How many German speakers do we have here?
I took a few years of German in high school and college, but it's piss poor. I'm thinking about setting up a German-only game where I can enjoy a little Diplomacy while immersing myself in the language for a few minutes a day.
