Huh? This is a request that, if it is ignored, actually works in my favor. My asking the mods to take quick action may actually cost me a solo. How is that not being a "grown up"? If you knew which game it was about and looked at it, you would go "Shit! He should keep hhis mouth shut and get his solo!"

This is exactly why TDs shouldn't be allowed to play in their own tournaments.

Remember, I was only assisting when the TD went AWOL on summer vacation. But I have made it a point to let the mods TD the games I am in and never even asked for TD privileges in the games (not that I would have gotten them nor should I).

I just don't want the fucktards here thinking I was asking the mods to intervene to my benefit when their intervention would actually have been to my detriment.

And aying a TD should be in his torunament is like saying a mod shoudln't be in *any* game. The TDs have to be cleared by the mdos to get TD powers and one would assume that means they are considered upstanding within game (even if some of us are absolute dicks on the forum).

I'm not accusing you in particular of anything. I'm saying when a TD plays in their tournament, it creates a real or perceived conflict-of-interest and prevents the TD from doing all his duties without the help of someone else.

In the future, please use the "Talk about ongoing games here" thread for things like this.

@abge - But that is easily handled by having someone else TD the games that the regular TD is in. In this case, the mods are doing it. There can be no impropriety when the TD doesn't even have TD privileges to his games.

Let me put it this way. The TD runs the tournament because it has a near and dear place in his heart. Why? Usually because he enjoys playing in it. So by denying him the game, you basically are killing tournaments. The only persons willing to TD want to play and they won't be willing to tD if they *can't* play. It'd be like telling a bowling league Secretary (who records the scores and computes the averages and handicaps and collects the dues and on andon) that they can't bowl. No one would ever be the secretary cause it's a thankless job. What if we told every mod they could no longer play diplomacy on the site because there might arise a conflict of interest and a perception of favoritism? No one would ever be a mod.

@abge, he isn't TD for his games. There were two, he was backup, the main left.

Draug has done well as TD. He takes action when needed and lives on Webdip.
