I understand your points, but for me this seems to be the vast majority of cases. 90% at least. Do you wish to lead me to think that multing really isn't too much of a problem in affecting games, as most multis don't actually cheat, they just break the rules by having more than one account.

That doesn't stop it being a problem. I suspect that when players engage in "harmless" rule-breaking or materially harmless rule-breaking and are caught, the likelihood of them doing it again goes down. The site has rules for a reason. Without naming names, many active and respected members on the site currently have previously been in rule-grey-areas. I doubt they do it now. There is value in second chances.

Plenty of us have broken rules and gotten second chances because we cooperated with the moderators and admins and made a promise that we wouldn't break them again. Those that did break them again are no longer here - you'll learn those names in time, we make jokes about them all the time...

Ok I see, I had just assumed the punishment was more ruthless first time round rather than second chances being given. Especially considering the amount of banning and muting that goes down in the forum.

Nope. Second chances are given, even third sometimes. I can prove so, as I was asked by a moderator via email to explain what was going on in certain games. What was happening was that my friends and I played in games together, sometimes knowingly, sometimes unknowingly. The issue was the concern of metagaming and none of us knew. We take extra precautions now, like letting each other know about anon games we join. The mods are quite lenient, unless you don't answer them by email when they email you.

Lando's points are correct. There are also many members who join multiple times after being banned. (userID=53056) for example. He hasn't cheated in his games, but he did with his 10 other accounts. So I have absolutely no trust that he wouldn't do so yet again.

In same cases though, yes people are allowed to keep one account depending on how they reply to moderator inquiries.

Though I suspect what's happening in most of what you see these days is cancelled games. The team is catching cheaters very quickly, before they are able to finish games. We cancel any ongoing games once we ban those cheaters, so all that's left is games they didn't cheat in on their record.

So you're so good at your job that not even evidence is left behind!
