I miss the days of longer story lines carried across weeks. Seasonal arcs are fine, but multiparters are even better.

While I can't say I "miss" those days (not old enough to miss them, lol) I do definitely prefer them...

I love how epic something like Genesis of the Daleks or The War Games feels over 6 or more parts...or even Adric dying (haha!) in Earthshock...

50 minute episodes are nice, but not quite the same level...sometimes there's a two-parter, but they're rarer.

Not a fan of the overall season arcs--occasionally they're good, but a lot of them (I'm look at you, Matt Smith Era) just feel cumbersome, full of filler, or both.

Definitely looking forward to adding those to my collection...

After 4 and a tie between 5 and 10, 2's my next favorite.

I was always fond of Colin Baker, but Peri annoyed the fuck out of me. Sylvester McCoy and Mel were quite good as well, but not such a big fan of Ace.

I haven't seen a full episode with Mel yet, but I liked Ace...

I thought she was a breath of fresh air after all the screeching/useless "Help me, Doctor!" companions...

And she hit a Dalek with a baseball bat and blew stuff up! I can get on board with that!

Colin Baker I actually might like more than Matt Smith, but neither would rank in the upper half of list of Doctors:

Peri...eh...I like Ace more than her, that's for sure...haven't seen enough of her to really judge one way or another.

Peri spent her whole time whining. Annoyed the fuck out of me. Donna started annoying but grew on me. Peri never did.

Donna's easily my favorite of Tennant's 3 main female companions.

I liked that she tried to take some initiative and call the Doctor on things.

I'll always love Rose. I can't help it. Without her, there'd be no Captain Jack Harkness at Torchwood.

Speaking of which, it has been way too long since Captain Jack was in Doctor Who. I don't think he's been in since "The End of Time, Part II."

Rose is alright, but I like Donna better.

Just got done watching The Caves of Androzani, and damn it, Doctor Who--

You have my second-favorite Doctor die in heroic fashion (after an awesome episode and a great climax with an almost Shakespearean feeling, all that double-crossing and death after death, that was quite a body count, but the tightly-woven story makes all the deaths carry weight and feel "earned") and follow that up with the Sixth Doctor just coming in and being "Pfff...screw that guy, *I'm* awesome!"

Colin Baker seems like a nice guy, and I've seen an episode of his I did like, but wow, WHO thought it was a good idea to follow up "Great sendoff to one of the most popular Doctors" with "Pfff...who needs that guy!"

Anyway...

I wish Captain Jack could be in the 50th, but (the very talented) John Barrowman has said he isn't in it, so...damn.

Troughton was my favourite Doctor, but Pertwee had the best companion - Sarah Jane Smith.

I was never a big SJS fan. Romana, now, was a great companion. Another actual Time Lord in the TARDIS with The Doctor. And as annoying as Adric was, Nyssa and Tegan more than made up for him.

I agree with Draug on Nyssa and Tegan, the Nyssa/Tegan/5th Doctor dynamic is right up there with my favorite TARDIS arrangements...

I DO like Sarah Jane, though, and Romana as well.

I'd pick 4th Doctor/Sarah Jane/Romana/Jamie for my All-Star TARDIS Crew.
