Hello folks,

One of the participants has found himself in a situation where he will be unable to finish the games, so we're going to replace him with another well performing member of the tournament.

We will pause all the games shortly after this announcement and do the switch. We are going to try to do it in such a way that it won't give away who's been replaced or who has taken over which country in each game. This is important to me, so I will get the mods to try to do their (our) best. We hope that it will have minimal disruption to the games, but if something goes wrong big time, Lando and I have agreed to cancel the games and start fresh (I hope that this does not happen).

Please do not ask who the member being replaced is or who is replacing him. I want to protect the anonymity of the players as much as I can (until one of the games finishes). I also want the games to continue smoothly. I have discussed the situation with Lando as well as one of the mods so that we have consensus.

If there are any problems, please PM me.

Should be added that the plan of switching out the player will be done in a way to ensure that the cross-game anonymity, irregardless of who the players are, will also be maintained.

I think the games should be canceled immediatly in that case.It's only 1902/03.

In all seriousness, I kind of agree with Split on this point. It will also save the mods what sounds like hours of trouble to maintain anonymity and what of the poor guy who is going to take over some idiot's bad positions?

But it is rather amusing how this tournament manages to get longer and more complicated at every turn.

I was seriously hoping that my other post before would be my last one before the end, but alas, that is not to be.
I am also fine with starting over, but I would prefer a consensus.

I don't know why we would start over. There should be no disruption to games, the replacement should play the hand of the player that originally earned their way in.

And why shouldn't he be able to start the game with his own choices for alliances and attacks?

Because he didn't earn a spot in the final in the first place?

He did earn the next in line position. It's not his fault somebody decided to quit at the beginning of the next round.

+1 y2k, most of all it is not our fault that someone quit at the beginning.

I think playing on makes the most sense assuming zully can get things done without us knowing which power in each game was replaced.
