New Variant Trials Finished
Even though it wasn't a actual tournament or anything and the games were originally 'wait for ready up' and that stopped halfway through leading to a lot of cds... i figured as they've all come to an end i would post the "results" anyway

"Shut Down" Bullshit by Obama
If we don't Federal Workers to man the WWII memorial...how come we have enough to pay the guards to put up barricades and stand guard to prevents WWII vets from visiting? How come Obama still seems to have staff at his *golf course*?

Seems Barrack Dickhead Obama has a very selective vision of what "shut down" means...

I've had enough
SSE increase their energy prices by 8.2% for winter, despite reporting £1.2 billion profit in the summer. I've had enough, who's going to join me?

DEBT CEILING NEGOTIATIONS
If nobody has ever negotiated on the Debt Ceiling, as Obama and the intellectually vacant around here say, …then how did we get Sequestration after the Debt Ceiling negotiations in 2011. Sequestration was *Obama’s* plan, by the way.

How very little intellectual integrity exists within you morally perverted Democrats…

Rank Questions
So how long does a player remain a Political Puppet and then move on to Member, Experienced, etc?

Is it a matter of how long you've played or how many times you've won or drawn? Or is it just based on time spent on the site? Just curious. Thanks for your help....

Diplomacy for the slow and old
Any interest in a 3 to 4 day phase game? I'd definitely want WTA, but buy-in, anonymity, and map (classic or modern) are up for debate. Drop a line and your preferences if interested. Thanks.

was lincoln great for our elite?
bill still seems to think the elite wanted to divide america so lincoln was a problem for them. but i am not so sure. lets say he did not declare war on the south and let the south kick out the norths military from their territory, would that have really benefited them much?

why he may be a hero to the elite
- the media loves him
- he has a massive monument
- he destroyed the infrastructure and wealth through the war
why they might not like him
- he was assassinated
- he issued united states notes
- he massively expanded government power
questionable ones
- he kept the country together

apparently bismark said the elite (at least the european ones) planned to break up america to more easily control it. but i am wondering if he was misled on that point. i think the elites of europe were the elites of america even back then. but i suppose if there was some difference then maybe a united america slightly benefits the americans banks rather than the european ones

thoughts?

typo
- he massively expanded government power
is obviously miscategorized
that is a reason for them to love him

How do you get to become an elite? Is there a school? You make it sound fun. Please tell me how.

good question
i wonder how much mobility there is in that group
i suggest you need two important things

first enough money to buy off anyone
(it helps to have the ability to unaccountably print money, so unfortunately for you this makes it hard to get into the club)
- you need to buy up politicians
- you need to buy up some media
- you need to buy up some academics

second some ability to understand and manipulate psychology
this is doable i think. the intelligence agencies have figured this out. it is really just science.

third the means and desire to commit crimes
sample crime - somehow get a politician to commit a crime (see requirement two) then blackmail him with it
sample crime - a false flag attack
sample crime - kill someone who has information about your operation and could disclosing it

fourth know everyone particularly people of importance, ie network
the second requirement is useful here but also the first and even the third
this has a dependency on the ability to be kind of... i dont know what to call it, maybe psychopathic? whorish? what i mean is have the ability to completely change your personality at any time as circumstances dictate

start with those four things and you will be on your way

you know what? i just thought of an alternate path to elitism this one really only has two requirements, kind of... or maybe three

first - money, as discussed above

second - the ability to hire people that you can trust that can do things for you and look the other way at what they are doing

this is more realistic
i do not think the people at the absolute top necessarily planned 911. they just hired people who they knew would do insane things to get things done

also as i have stated earlier i think after a couple generations the elite are not really all that smart themselves but you do not have to be. you only have to delegate.

however, getting to the absolute top is kind of hard. maybe you will be satisfied at being a peon of the top elite. like a cheney or something. in which case the other requirements are good starting points.

The elite in Europe wanted a divided America, the elite in America did not, but the elite in the South did. Which set of elites were you intending to refer to, specifically?

The lincoln is arguably one of the poorest biscuits and certainly not great for the elite. The true elite is far more likely to endulge in the ginger nut, the humble digestive, or (in the very highest echelons) the garibaldi.

Beware he who eats the bourbon cream for, although he aspires to be, he is not an elite at all.

So here's the thing. I really don't like "Wait for orders" mode.

College Life
So a couple months ago I asked the WebDip community for advice for college. Many of you said that joining a frat would be a good idea, and at the very least I should check it out.
Well, on October 7th I am pledging to Theta Chi; are there any soon-to-be fellow frat mates on WebDip? What other fraternities are people a part of?

Fog of war variant
Correct me if there is already one, but wouldn't it be cool to have a variant with 'fog of war'? You would only be able to see enemy units in territories neighbouring your own territory/armies. The uncertainty would make things very interesting.. perhaps with additional distance limitations on conversation as well

GUNBOAT TOURNAMENT
As has been mentioned, I am hoping to run a gunboat tournament. I intend it to be basic but also comprehensive. I will detail some "things" below. I would like to get a read on who would be interested in playing.

Gunboat Strategy?
Hi everyone. Could someone point me in the direction of some general gunboat strategy, especially classic? Things like opening moves for different countries, how to "coordinate" with players given the restrictions, etc. Pretty please thank you!!

IPCC finally admits that it was lying to us all
You've gotta love this:
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/health-science/we-got-it-wrong-on-warming-says-ipcc/story-e6frg8y6-1226719672318
My stance on global warming for the last year has remained the same: The IPCC were exaggerating their claims, and that while global warming is happening, its not happening as quickly as climate scientists think.
