So so so...
England: Great start! Conservatism worked out for you there. I like to think you had a part arranging that Burgundy bounce, because skill is always more fun to watch than luck. A convoy onto Belgium guaranteed, and a free choice on who to ally with. What more can you ask for in 1901? Have a cookie.
France: A bit of an odd one. If you actually wanted Burgundy, why not just support Par - Bur with Marseilles, which would have the exact same effect on Iberia in Autumn, but without the risk of a Burgundy bounce. Poor move. Unless of course, the Burgundy bounce was pre-arranged. But why on earth anyone would arrange a bounce with someone that guarantees a third party gets the build, I don't know. You have no leverage to stop an E/G forming now. No kudos or cookies for you, get back to the drawing board.
Germany: Hooray! You didn't open to Ruhr! I instantly like you a bit more. Shame Burgundy was bounced, but you're in a good place to ally with England now, if you can convince him it's in his interests. Not impossible to ally with France, but rather on the back-foot. I expect you to get a lot of pressure to bounce Sweden now though, which is something I prefer to avoid. Italy being in Tyrolia is another thing you have to consider now, too. So-so turn. Have half a cookie.
Italy: Ballsy! I like. Not the standard, inanely boring lepanto. I like! Turkey moving on Russia so you can safely attack Austria. I really like! All a very good show. Perfect groundwork laid for an I/T, which I do so love, but very easy to turn into a Wintergreen still. Or even an anti-German Bohemian Crusher, if you wanted to be a bit wild. Excellent stuff. I hope you're looking hungrily at Greece. A cookie for you.
Austria: Well, certainly ballsy. Arranging the Galicia DMZ and persuading Russia to not only stick to it, but also to open F-Sev -> Rum so that he's no threat to you at all is very impressive. Sadly, you rather threw it all away by going A Vie-Bud. What on earth was that doing for you? The only thing it gives you is the opportunity to instantly stab Russia for Rumania, and even that is tenuous at best due to his ease of support holding. A Vie-Tri is far far better, and Italy's punishing you for that cock-up. Even if you were going for the anti-Turkish attack on Bulgaria in 1901, Trieste would still be able to slot into Serbia behind. BAD opening. Now you have to hope for the best in your guess on covering Trieste or Vienna, and hope Turkey doesn't tap Serbia so that Trieste would be all but guaranteed for Italy (especially if he went for Greece instead of Tunis). No cookie for you, and go write me 100 lines of "I must not blindly trust all my neighbours".
Russia: Well, good and bad. Very pro-Austrian start which worked nicely with the DMZ in Galicia, but you clearly didn't do a very good job on convincing Turkey to DMZ Black Sea (tolerable if you were OK with him going to it), and an equally bad job convincing him not to outright attack you (Not tolerable in the slightest). Usually, I'd say you should have opened North when you DMZ'd Galicia, but I guess you correctly didn't trust Turkey enough for that. Now you have a make or break turn - Italy tying Austria up means you can't get any help defending Rumania, so you have a massively important 50/50 on that Ukrainian support hold that will define whether this is an OK start or a horrible one. The fact Sweden is probably getting bounced because of Burgundy is just insult to injury. No cookie for you.
Turkey: Excellent stuff. I like to think you knew you'd be getting into Black Sea (skill > luck), but either way, that turn couldn't have got much better for you. Italy attacking Austria, so no lepanto. Black Sea and Armenia are yours, and you have a 50/50 on 2 builds this year and crippling Russia. Austria will be begging you for help, and Italy is in the ideal position for an I/T. Big cookie for you!
