Without wishing to defend Beck, it does seem awfully like that was him criticising a viewpoint, and one does wonder whether the editting of what he said was necessarily entirely fair.

* have a seperation of church and state. Congress shall make no law establishing a state religion or prohibiting the free practioce there of. But that is *only* Congress who is forbidden to make laws with regards to religion. This idea that there can't be voluntary prayer in public schools because of some imagined separation of church and state is bogus.

I'll be fair and say this much: I believe the person Mr. Beck is setting himself up against, Mr. Cone, has poor ideas as well, and so really...I dislike both of their viewpoints.

I WILL say I like Beck's mentioning of the importance of merit around the 8:30 mark, but really, for me, this whole thing becomes bogged down into a quagmire of unecessary religious remarks--not to mention poorly-constructed religious arguments--on a POLITICAL show (supposedly.)
