@stranger, it means you're almost guaranteed in the 3-way draw if it comes down to that, and forces everyone else to look to the east. If you can snap up Tunis and set up a tight blockade, you got yourself some good solo potential

Okay, you may be right, but I tried Juggernaut a few times now, and at the end France and Turkey got a stalemate in the mediterranean, and Russia got a stalemate with England in scandinavia/Germany. So France wouldn´t have been able to hold his lines if it weren´t for england blocking the north.

Why not threaten Italy in '01?

Tell him if he attacks Austria, Marseilles goes in as a peacekeeping force. This should help secure the AI which makes the jug more likely.

Also, @stranger - if its done right, then England is wiped out fairly quickly. Who cares if Russia temporarily gains parts of Scandinavia? He won't be pumping out fleets until the mid-late game, by which time England should be dead if you've been at him from the beginning. A/I is a wall against the Jugg that you can prop up for as long as it is convenient. Same thing with Germany.

I actually tried it with an alliance with E to start with, he, T and R all agreed to getting a Jug, the Jug thought we would attack from the other side and get down to 4 countries, my plan however was waiting for the Jug to get defeated and slowly get more SCs with England, trying to keep all countries alive on the way so it would be hard to cooperate against us...

Everybody knew a Jug would come (thanks to me) and then it didn't come...

Sounds like bad luck. Is this a completed game? If so, you can post a link and we can see what happened to the jug.
