Find the section of the website rules that indicates how to contact the mods via email.

We should come up with way to reduce incentives in cheating, thus also reduce the work to investigate. I propose:

1. You are not allowed to take over a country when it's too weak. If have seen ridiculous cases when someone took over a county with a couple SCs while the giant neighbor has more than 10 SCs.
2. When someone takes over a country, the new bet money should not be added to the pot. As far as the current players, it's just a change of player for that one country, why should the pot be sweetened?
3. We should have tier where a brand new players is not allowed to join a game with a veterans or higher ranking. You must play with xyz number of games and show credible effort before you are allowed in game with the vet. This prevents people from making quick and throw away account to help their main.

Meep, this is exactly what I suspect. A neighbor (and ally) left the game and I started to take his SCs before a rival did, and now magically he is making moves again. Its an anonymous game, but I did see "left" many phases ago. Whomever has taken over is now making moves that are problematic for me, but suicide for him.

Please do not discuss ongoing games or make cheating accusations on the Forum.

@Canuck, yeah, I would not worry about it. Going after this one-sy, two-sy throw away accounts is a waste of time. We should focus on a more elegant policy to reduce cheating. I did not bother to report what I saw either.

If you don't report all suspicions of cheating, you encourage cheating...

Well, at best you can ban the little throw away account. It's hard to prove the main account for cheating though. I would imagine the Mod and Dev are so busy with investigations, they don't need more potential cheats reports right?

They *want* all suspicions reported and have said so repeatedly. And when they prove an established account is cheating, they have banned it (look at Agent K, one of the top players in his day).

@MeepMeep, please send an email to [email protected] for ALL your suspicions. It's not hard to prove the main account is cheating. I've banned dozens of cheaters, the majority of them before they'd spent more then a week on the site. We have tools that make detecting cheating very easy, especially when everyone points out suspicious behavior to us.

Yep, a variety of things are slowing us down, but they'll be finishing up within a week. And we get to every email even if it takes some time.

I propose for the community to report cheating in a thread here. Let the whole community see them, then we filter out the most obvious ones to send to the Dev. This will reduce the work load for the Dev. What ya think?

Oh duh, my bad, I just realize it's an accusation. What was I thinking. LoL.

Cheating accusations on the forum are a bad idea for many reasons:
1) False/mistaken accusations wrongly tarnish player reputations as well as potentially derail ongoing games.
2) Publicly investigation/discussion of cheating by members can cause mob vengeance, which can greatly acerbate the issues mentioned above.
3) All cheating suspicious are worth reporting. We'll look into them and investigate thoroughly. Filtering out the "borderline" suspicions may just be filtering out the sneakier cheaters that results in them playing longer before being caught.
4) Even in cases where the cheating accusation is correct, making a public accusation does not help the investigation/resolution, and more likely makes investigation/resolution should it "tip off" the cheater to potential public suspicions.
