World War Two Diplomacy (Global Variant)
I was thinking about a World War Two Diplomacy Variant expanded to encompass the entire globe. Any ideas?

TIME FOR REVOLUTION!
I heard from a very reliable source that the government gives black women $400 a week? That is, and I quote, "$28,000 a year, better than minimum wage, just for being women and black."
Now, I know krellin is on my side for the revolution to take down all women, but when injustice like this is being taunted in our faces, I feel obliged to take action! WHO'S WITH ME?

Unread Mail in Gunboat games
I've had it happen before (in completed games) that the unread mail icon has shown up in one of my gunboat games. What's that all about? Moderator messages? Naturally, one can't read these in a gunboat game, since there's no global tab.

First place units, than give orders
I was thinking, whether is it possible to make pregame for build. Players would choose what type of unit they want to build: land or fleet. For instance. Austria would be able to place 3 land units. It might be interesting, because placing the units may indicate the intentions of players...or not. Of not as an constans variant than an option in advanced settings.

Testing semck's theory
Hey THUCY you know blacks were NEVER enslaved? They're not even from Africa, you dolt. Why else would we call them African AMERICANS? And don't even get me started on black WOMEN, easily the most privilege citizens in the country. You know the government gives them $400 a WEEK? That's $28,000 a YEAR, better than minimum wage, just for being WOMEN and BLACK. You pitiable FOOL. I feel bad for you, son, believing these diluted liberal LIES.

After the next pope is elected, he will choose a papal name. Of the names used in the last two hundred years, these are most likely to be used by Benedict XVI's successor.

World Map
What's your favorite country to play as? Alliances to form?
Of course, the map is quite unbalanced, but I just wanted to see. World strategies are much more complicated than Europe.

I'll start: favorites are Russia and Argentina. Favorite alliance, Russia-Near East or Libya- Near East
You don't want to ally with Near-East, you want to take over Near East since it contains so many potential stalemate lines.

I've yet to play Kenya, but I think I'd enjoy it. I've done best as India thus far, and enjoyed notable runs with Quebec and Argentina.

I've had my best games as Western Canada, Kenya, and Near-East, but despite taking part in the 17-game monstrosity I don't think I've played any country enough to say with any certainty which will ultimately be my favorites. I've enjoyed Kenya/India and Kenya/Near-East alliances.

Kenya/India? That's an odd alliance. Imo, they will always clash with each other.
Ritmo (736 D(B))

Not always ;)

I'm sure they usually do, but in the relatively small sample size of games I've played as one or the other, it has worked out.

I like Russia's ability to build quickly in the first year. And I have no idea what I was thinking, but I meant Russia-Libya to squeeze out the Near East. Russia and Near East can work, as stalemate lines can encourage diversion of forces elsewhere. Other common alliances I've seen were Ghana/South Africa and Pac-Russia/China, although that one involves a stab sooner or later, as does India/Pac-Rus. India and Kenya is intriguing, and I like the idea. IMO, it's like France/England because the Northwest Indian is like the English Channel. Important, but if utilized well, powerful.

I love playing as Argentina because it's easy to run over Brazil, and South Africa is too busy tied up with FA and Kenya. from there, an alliance with the prevailing North American power and a strong fleet can push into the Antarctic, or directly to Africa, although the later is less common.

What would you do in a gunboat to imply a wanted alliance/ peace? I find it impossibly hard to play gunboat when spreading out forces in 3 directions.

I loved playing with South Africa. Had had great alliance with Oz and later Argentina joined us, once we had eliminated antartica, we could quite easily sweep the map from the south.
cardcollector (1270 D)
24 Feb 13 UTC
that's actually quite interesting. I see pac-rus/ western Canada alliances to sweep the map from the north, but not the other way around.
India, I have yet to play as, but I desperately want to. It seems so fun. China is hard to play as... Europe is even harder.

For a gunboat you start with a support, but the hard part is trusting to move so you have empty SCs near your ally. Even in a regular game you can easily get stabbed when you need units for a front line. It works best when your "ally" needs units too and can't afford to start a war with you.

I like Kenya because once you grow past 10 units it's easy to establish a stable front even without getting into an alliance.

I love playing Kenya and FA. A PAC-Russia and FA alliance has worked well for me before.
I've seen my share of southern power alliances as well as northern power alliances. Both are good since they anchor themselves in a corner of the map

Have you ever seen successful Europe, Ghana, or Brazil games? I think those are a few of the weaker powers in the game.
Yes, yes, and yes.

Europe, South Africa, and Libya are the weakest in the game. Brazil and Ghana are really middle-level powers

SAVE, NOW CLICK ON NOT READY
Does anyone else feel the frustration I have when players do not press the NOT READY icon after pressing SAVE, I can understand if they need the full time if they are busy with other things, THAT'S LIFE, but when everyone else's orders are in showing a GREEN TICK, why needlessly hold the war up and its worse on builds and retreats, for those out there that do this, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, time to WAKE UP!

diplomacy for idiots
The purpose of this game is to open in the most ridiculous way possible. In the Spring of 1901, you must have a crazy and idiotic move. Anyone who opens with a "real" opening will be ganged up on and beaten, followed by a six way draw. P.M. me if interested, and I will give you the password and Game I.D.

Has anyone made a successful map of a very small area, for example a city or a building? Was wondering if a variant would be possible of New York City for example, or even smaller like a hospital complex (hostage scenario type thing where the hostages are supply centres.)
