I think it has something to do with spamming the Forum until all the topics fall off the bottom...or it might be spamming the Global Chat in a game. I also recall Edi didn't want it to be named after him. I know the Forum spam isn't 'legal'. The Global Chat one is I think.

And it is legal in Global chat, but a bannable offense on the forum.

the purpose is when u post some private msg on the global chat by mistake that gives away your moves or plans... you keep posting gibberish on the global chat window until it falls off the top

Perfectly legal in a regular game, but I would question its legality in a Global Press game.

Taramissile or Tarabomb as Tara...something used it in this forum and was promptly banned.

It is one of the many things that would be frowned upon, but is legal

I'd say only use it if *you* made the mistake and put it on global, not to interfere with anyone's communication.

A fair compromise should be to call an illegal one on the forum a Tarabomb and a strategic one in a game an Edibomb.

@sean- I think Commodore64 did a bomb on the forum too, a while back.

Compromise? I'm surprised that people keep coming back to Edibomb. Some sort of linguistic hook to it I suppose. I don't think he deserves to be associated with something so infantile...

Forum-bombing will get you banned. Global-bombing is a little greyer. No official consequences, but it could be seen as bad sportsmanship, depending on the circumstances.

I think it's too late to change the word. It's a little like Indians in America, once it sticks it doesn't matter if it's wrong.

The best thing to do would be to completely ignore the issue. I never would have thought of this on my own, at least not for use on the forum.

You could always say it's based on another Edi...?

I don't know, but personally, if a bunch of gibberish shows up from someone, that might make me more likely to stab/attack them.

Well, you have to weigh that risk versus the cost of someone seeing what you accidentally typed in global.

If it was "Hey Austria, I'm going to stab thejoeman on this next move, so hang tight and we'll conquer the world together!" Then it would be worth the risk.

The original post that I brought up was not so much directed at killing messages in Global Chat or even someone else's mail box (I think I went over that aspect also as an example of bad behavior)...but it was also an issue of what could be done on the General Forum here this was one of my arguments in favor of a restructure and maybe a restriction on posting here.

The forum in the new version will be paginated so you can go back and find previous posts that have dropped off the bottom. I don't know about the global chat.

Is there a reason to "fix" it for global chat? It's not like in a face to face game someone would look across the table and say, "hey, help me stab France... Opps, I meant to pull you aside and say that."

The real trick is when everyone but one person has voted to draw, then do it an hope that one person does an /undraw command thinking it'll just tell him or her where the voting stands when really it counts as a vote to draw. That you shouldn't do.

@laurenceofarabia- What Invictus said wasn't racist at all. Most people call Native Americans, Indians. Of course, some people call them American Indians too...

I would guess he thought you meant Indians from India being in America being wrong but stuck with it, rather than the word "Indians" meaning native Americans being wrong but stuck with it.
