I've had to cover my mistakes a few times by spamming the global chat. And at the end, I tell everyone why I spammed the global chat.

If you spam enough, then your original comment will cease to show up :)

No they wouldn't. They would know the original message was a private message to someone, but they wouldn't know who or the content.

I tell the truth, its much easier! Then talk to your ally and decide if you want to take that strategy after all or leave it as a bluff.

When your communication goes to the global chat then you can do a Posting Bomb to wipe it out if you catch it. However, the more important challenge is how to use it to assist your interest. After all there are places where you will not be able to undo such an error.

You might consider jumping into mentor mode to use the communication as an example of what can be said and invite comments on the structure of the deal. You might point out the advantages and the shortfalls of the proposal. You could explain that the offer was so obvious that everyone should be aware of the possibilities or that the proposal is so devious and drips with suave techniques that you could not resist sharing it with everyone. Or you could blame it on the cat walking on the keyboard.

I'm with iMurk. What is so childish/infantile/puerile about clearing unintended communications from the global chat?

Leave it to Edi to find ways to turn stupid mistakes into sneeky deceptions.
