New feature suggestion
A global press message after every phase so that its easier to place archived messages when looking through press in the 'messages' screen. Would help for diploming and for creating EOGs.

Not sure if Blankflag is still around but if he is this is for him
A few months ago Blankflag claimed that vaccines don't work, so I thought I would share this picture that showed up in my facebook feed this morning:

Though I am still convinced he is a troll, I want to know his thoughts on this post.

Springtime (no Hitler!) For Germany: Voted Most Popular Country, UK #3, US...#8...Really?
Really? Behind France? I mean, all the arrogance and posturing of the French...that's OUR job as arrogant Americans posturing for war, damn it! ;) (And who loses to France after 1815? I KID, I KID, first to start on a history lesson gets smacked in the face with a week-old baguette!) And counting the EU is cheating, in my opinion, if you're going to count individual EU nations and then the EU itself...But at least, in a totally-unimportant poll, we still beat China! ;)

I spent a week in Salt Lake City last month. I had no idea Mormons believed the crazy shit they believe. Then I realized that it's no more crazy than other Christians - only more obviously crazy.

Since I can also say that I've never met a group of friendlier people, Mormons are now better than regular Christians as far as your old pal YJ is concerned. Also a beautiful temple. In fact, despite years of attempted proselytizing by regular Christians, I have now converted to Mormonism. You guys should take notes from them on how to be less dickish, it's way more effective.

Also, you should probably go ahead and admit that Christ came to America or whatever. It's obvious. I know it's true because the Book of Mormon says so.

Tsk. YJ, everyone knows that Mormonism isn't a proper religion, it's just a crude attempt at religious satire. Tarvuism's where' it's at'.

Did you guys know that the head of the Mormon Church is a prophet? True fact!

He's not infallible or anything like SOME religions claim, that would just be silly.

Ouch. But the funny thing about that episode is that it says exactly what you have said. The Mormons are very nice and polite people. They are willing to help their neighbors. They just have some "different" beliefs. But it is a very funny episode, none the less.

Hi dipplayer, why?

Seriously, they were so freaking nice!

I did get the impression that they acted that way to better proselytize. The women (though married) made constant eye contact and smiled a lot. It wasn't quite flirtatious, but it was definitely... well... like a quiet hint of rewards to come, kinda like "One of these could be yours!"

Is that intentional? Is it trained/ingrained? Is it done to help proselytize?

Were these the young women on Temple Square you are referring to? The sister missionaries? They are not married, and are selected for that service based on their looks. The Church knows what it's doing, and how to sell the product.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

No dip, they were at a campground in SW Utah, and I assumed they were single just by the eye contact. They told me they were married shortly into the conversation.

"Is that intentional? Is it trained/ingrained? Is it done to help proselytize?"

My experience with Mormon women is that they're all like that by nature - no training required (at least, none that I've noticed - it could be one of their closely guarded secrets).

When do you defer a build?
Do you ever defer a build to make your allies happy? If so, what are the circumstances you usually do so in? At what points of the game? Would you ever defer a build early in the game, for example?

I had no idea that a golfer's suggestion that he would serve fried chicken to another golfer could be considered racist. I fully accept that innocent comments can hurt people and as I have no wish to ever offend others, I would ask webdippers to educate me. What can't I say?

CNN religious pandering

Wolf Blitzer asks an atheist tornado survivor if she "thanks the lord". The worst kind of religious pandering. I'm sure he assumed that all those rubes in the flyover states are evangelicals. Be sure to thank the lord for sending that massive and devastating tornado your way.
