I think it's quite frankly productive to discuss things that should be banned around the world. For instance, I find the private ownership of land to be destructive towards mankinds labour, products of such labour and species being. If Karl Marx is to be invoked, then landowners must be banned as a necessary condition of the revolution.

Landowners in Canada receive preferential tax treatment. The disposal of a Qualified Farm Property (qualification can be achieved as easily as leasing to a Land Tenant for farming activities) is eligible for the lifetime capital gains examption. As such, and considering the soaring farmland prices in this country, landowners are able to acquire huge amounts of cash without paying tax. As such, it is important that these landowners are penalized in other areas, such as to level the playing field. I support the ban of landowners as ava proposes.

Why not just eliminate the financial benefits of land owning and fix the price based on location, location, location. Then you would owe the land, but the only place you could make money would be on the improvements to the land (such as buildings or lakes, orchards, etc. that improve the location, location, location value of the land) and eliminate the Canadian preferential tax treatment.

Furthermore, there are two legends that irk me to the core. The first is the mythical creature known as a sandgoose. Born in the kalahari desert, this creature is black and white and apparently speaks English at the level of a three year old. How stupid is that? I believe such legends insult the intelligence of good men and women and their children also. They must be banned.

The other one is a legend about a German coffin maker (translation - sargmacher). I personally am more interested in German coffee makers, or 'kaffeemaschines'. The coffin maker is a constant reminder of negativity aurrounding death and as such must be banned.

And yes, I get that Ava was being facetious (well, now I do), but it does beg the question about taking land ownership and finding a compromise between Communism & Anarchism and Capitalism.
