I was France. As soon as Austria CDed in 1901, I knew Italy (SplitDiplomat) would win if I don't do something about it. Unfortunately, Germany (Bob Genghiskhan) was doing its usual act of attacking France and England was simply stupid. In such conditions, stopping Italy was impossible. With a noob Turkey in the east, that was it.

There was a chance for stalemate lines, but neither Germany nor Russia would take some decisive steps, obviously ogling my remains in the Iberian peninsula. To get back to them, I went north and did some pirating, which precipitated the long-awaited clash between the uneasy allies Germany and Russia.

As usual, SplitDiplomat won because he waited for the right time to move.

In that situation you needed a stronger player as France, who allies with England year one and destroys Italy by year 5 :-)
