What the hell has happened to double yolk eggs?
Seriously now, where did they go? There were never huge numbers of them, but they cropped up every now and then to provide unparalleled excitement at the breakfast table. Now they seem to have vanished into the murky depths of history along with the space shuttle and the cream that used to float on top of a pint of milk.

Is this evidence that humanity is in terminal decline?

This conversation is considered resolved.
"[name], I'm sorry you don't understand, but given our past interactions, I suspect you don't actually care and are just looking to waste my time. This conversation is considered resolved."

Can someone explain why I keep seeing this in basically every thread (not to me, mind; just in general)? Did someone keep saying it and now it's sort of an ironic in-joke? I don't understand!

Well????
This is a question I love to put to armchair scientists on Internet forums. It puts an end to their ignorant bullshit before it even gets a chance to start.

Video Game Music
Since there seem to be a bunch of video gamers on here I was curious if anyone else had a favorite theme from a video game.

I personally love the opening theme from Final Fantasy 4 (2 in the states).

Teaching Gravity in School
Gravity is not proven and is called the theory of gravity, not the law of gravity. Since its only a theory it shouldn't be taught in school as there is insufficient evidence to prove that things fall towards the ground when dropped.

What if the power of a god were proportional to the number of followers he has?
Assume the god/gods of each religion have divine power proportional to the number of followers. Assume also that gods can carry out divine intervention.
What would happen to the world? Please only consider religions that have a considerable following in the modern day.

Walking Dead redeemed?
Just watched the season finale and it almost makes watching the rest of the show worth it. I won't give you any spoilers but, if you're watching it because you're a fan of the comic and keep waiting for it to get good, watch the finale.

"We have a lot of people with different political beliefs here." We do?
I thought we were all a bunch of liberal well-educated progressive open-minded elitists except for the occasional odd birds like PE and a few loud individuals like TC (and krellin?).
NikeFlash (140 D)

Krellin, glad to see that it got your attention. Hehe. I love being me.
PS, because I support a woman's right to choose what happens with her own body does not make me a liberal.
Man, liberals are so arrogant. Wait I thought most business men are Rebuplican. If they are so wealthy wouldn't they be smart. Hippies are liberals. Where does that put them?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
23 Mar 12 UTC
HC it's easy to slip into arrogance when confronted with stupidity. I'm not saying you're stupid, as we've debated before and you have not demonstrated stupidity, but some of the beliefs you espouse are.
NikeFlash (140 D)
23 Mar 12 UTC
HC look at TC's threads and his refusal to acknowledge people (by muting) that bring up valid arguments refuting his position and tell me *only* liberals are arrogant. There are arrogant liberals, conservatives, socialists, feminists, fascists, the list goes on and on. The point is, that arrogance is not reserved for people with one viewpoint.
largeham (149 D)

Lol, hippies are liberals. Must mean you haven't met many hippies. All the ones I've met are right wing as hell.

@Krellin You don't want abortion based upon your morals. If you get to legislate some of your morals then do I get to legislate some of mine? That would be really fun.

I'm pro-life. I believe we should do everything in our power to improve the quality of life of all the people i know.

I'm pro-welfare. I believe we shouldn't allow a child to be born into this world if they do not have a decent chance of having a good and healthy life.

I'm pro-choice. I beleive people should have the ability to choose for themselves how to behave, how much sex to have, and with whom, and whether to use contraception or any other medical procedure as they choose.

I'm pro-women. Theu are neother property nor baby-making machines, i believe women should be empowered and supported by society so that they cam cpntrol their reproduction and thus prevent a single unwanted child being born into this world.

I hope you find these views consistant.

Yellojacket, fortunately there is no afterlife, heaven or hell. I asked God and she told me it was a scam to get the kiddies tp behave nice while she's out creating life on the other galaxies. Some great stuff from what i can understand!!!

It's interesting to be debating a basic fundamental human riight like the womans right to choose and having people, probably men, actually saying they don't agree with it.
For what reason would a sane rational thinking individual deny a woman the right to choose ........ what would Jesus say?
"except for the occasional odd birds like PE"

not sure if he's calling me not-liberal/progressive

or not-educated/openminded
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
23 Mar 12 UTC
That's the beauty of a diplomat's writing, PE.
You should +1 it regardless of how you read it. :)

I meant that you were a libertarian and those folks have some pretty out there ideas. Don't mean they ain't no good now. Just out there. ;)
Celticfox (100 D(B))
23 Mar 12 UTC
@Nigee Why would a woman get a say in her own body? Aren't they property?

*Disclaimer.. obviously being sarcastic*

Jesus probably would say let the woman make her own mistakes or whatever. Who are we to judge on another person when we ourselves have sinned.
taustin282 (100 D)
23 Mar 12 UTC
To be pro-life and not pro-choice would be to discriminate against women just because they have vaginas and wombs.
Republicans claim they want state power and whatnot; they even say that they're more constitutional and want to conserve the rights within it. What they forget to mention is that they're trying to limit so many people's rights through banning abortion and gay marriage.
The only reason they dislike gay marriage in the first place is because they're a bunch of old white homophobes.

OK, I've finally found something on the internet so insanely terrible and godaweful that I am absolutely horrified and disgusted by it. This simply should not exist - and I consider it proof that there is indeed no God. I don't know what else to say. Not for the faint of heart!

Seeing as the 5 Gunboat Challenge idea has become so popular I thought I would put a bit more work in to making it special so I created a public spreadsheet, with a full roster, useful information, and full reference of game information, including participants and game links.

Interesting article on prospective employers forcing interviewees to show them facebook profiles etc. Do you guys feel this is an invasion of privacy or something legitimate for corporations to be doing now?
