FAIL AT #!! :O
Don't get me wrong, BG can have a spot in the Top 10...
BUT #1?!?!
NO!
There is no way BG beats out the original Star Trek AND The Twilight Zone AND Doctor who...even though the last one isn't one of my favorites per se, a Top 5 spot is still warranted.
Shame, since almost every other ranking I agreed with.
obiwanobiwan's FIXED Top 10.
10. Lost (I don't know if it's "sci-fi" so much as it is "adventure/survival," so a lower slot
9. Firefly
8. Lost In Space (Come on...no love for the campy classic? FORGET THE FILM!) :O
7. Babylon 5
6. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Impossible, er, highly improbably this didn't get a slot!)
5. Star Trek: TNG (7 seasons, 4 films, the mainstream knows it, and PATRICK STEWART!)
4. The X-Files (I didn't like it, but for those who did, this is a classic, and also well-known)
3. The Twilight Zone ("A dimension not only of sight and sound but of MIND"...LEGENDARY)
2. Doctor Who (Longest-running, and second only to...)
1. Star Trek (Boldly going where no one with cardboard sets and actors with bad accents have gone before!)
:D
Really, The Twlight Zone, Doctor Who, and Star Trek can each be considered for a #1 tie, each one deserves it, it's a matter of taste...
The Twlight Zone had maybe the best ration of good-to-bad scripts and Rod Serling...
Doctor Who is longest-running...
And Star Trek is easily one of the best TV shows ever PERIOD, most Top 20 lists have it somewhere...
Rod Serling, The doctor, and Captain Kirk:
HOW ARE NONE OF THEM AT #!?!?!?!
(I say the Klingons and Daleks are responsible and have just crossed into the Twilight Zone to try and, you guessed, it, TAKE OVER THE WORLD!) :p
