If I kept it to myself we wouldn't have this update :-) this update and others come in from contributors because it's open source, people want to make their own sites better and do so, but then the license we use says you have to share the changes (plus your code gets more widely used and more debugged). Keeping it to myself we might end up like playdiplomacy, with all development stalled and trying to raise $25000 from the users, if it's open source you know it'll always be improving as long as people use it.
So the latest code we use here is always available at http://webdiplomacy.net/webDiplomacy-latest.tgz

They don't :-) Re the suggestion we're hoping to have a system that can compare log-on times, for multi accounting and better matching in live games, so we don't need timezones to be shown because we should have something better later

Hmm, what version of Firefox and what addons/plugins are you using? Do you get any errors in the javascript console, and does it work for you in IE?
Re: the time left delay I've now removed that restriction, I think the new game search and higher number of users means it shouldn't be a problem here

Re: seconds in the JS timer. I'll be converting it to use the D days, H hours / H hours, M minutes / M minutes, S seconds thing we're using now, but it's in Javascript
