That and alt+0163 for £ are literally the only symbols I memorize with alt, but I use them all the time so it's definitely less of a pain in the ass than copying the symbol from somewhere else each time..

I can tell you right now if you tried to message me in steam our conversation would have lasted around 20 years. I'm worse at replying to steam messages than I am at PMs. Email is always best.

Thanks! Those are games you play? I looked at Elite: Dangerous before but it occurred to me as a bit empty, although definitely huge.. is that true?

Yes, those are the four I'm playing atm. If you like flight simulators or you want to play EVE without having a PhD in Excel, you'll probably really like Elite. It's true it's a bit sparse but in the week I've been playing it they've already made some nice improvements, so it's still actively being developed. Honestly, I wouldn't pay full price for it unless you absolutely love the genre, though.

Have you ever considered building a desktop? Or are you dead set on the laptop steeph?

No space. I'm now on my bed with my laptop because dinner is almost ready and I can't sit somewhere else with it.

I also really like mobility so yeah. No.

I live with my parents in a pretty average house. There's a couple of desks but my dad seems fond of buying cheap second hand laptops to fill the space with for some reason. It's his laptops/space so I can't exactly tell him to move them away and the desktops themselves I don't like sitting behind either, I'd also be sitting pretty isolated all the time.

My own desktop is completely full at the moment, but normally I'd want to be able to use it for homework as well.
I also just like to sit where I want I guess. For instance, if I sit downstairs I can't make noise if my parents don't want me to, if I'm upstairs I can't play late or early because I'd risk waking people up..
With a laptop I can move around the house, sit in the garden etc.

If it were my house, I could easily fit in a game room. That's not the case though, that's the problem I guess. And I like mobility.

Besides, what if I end up living on a university campus when I start studying in 2016, for instance? Mobility, flexibility, I need it.

Then you'd carry your desktop in a suitcase like a real gamer. Just be thankful you don't still have CRTs. : )

You clearly wouldn't move it every day. You can easily have a desktop at university though. For your use-case, I think a laptop is much better though.
