Hey SYnapse, serious advice here.
With such hopes, you don't want to be relying on individuals the way you seem to do. Unless you know various things about an individual (which you don't on the internet), individuals are very unpredictable and therefore unreliable in your plans.
Now, what do you have to do then?
You want to find something predictable. So what is predictable?
A crowd.
If you plan carefully and can get a crowd to listen to you (ideally you just want to become famous first, it doesn't matter how as long as it doesn't devaluate your words), you can think many steps ahead, looking for ways to influence wars and everything you want to influence. Ideally, you want a lot of money too so you can have some extra leverage. Imagine your influence if you are favoured by a large crowd and control most oil, just to give an example.
So you really want a grand plan that gives you a unique leverage (probably not oil, I just used that as an example to explain my theory. Really think outside the box, because I can tell you that, if there's a solution, it's probably not inside the box.) in the end, but just don't rely on individuals unless you know them extremely well.
That's how my plan works anyway, since I'm trying to reach similar things to you in the end, although I dare say I have a more realistic approach. I don't rely on the goodness of individuals, I rely on the predictable behaviour of the crowd.
If you're good at that, becoming rich should be easy, and your ideals would be... Well, plausible.
