Any news on when the ghost ratings will be released? I am sure to tumble in June's ratings, so I am looking forward to a brief celebration when May's ratings come out.

After some serious deliberation, the moderator team has decided to allow a formerly banned member, Sandgoose, back onto the site. In a unanimous decision, we decided that his 1 year of problem free behavior, as well as a good track record on VDip, merit him worthy for another chance on Webdip. In the future, all these decisions will be done on a case-by-case basis, but we will always require there to be a minimum of one year away from the site problem-free and a unanimous moderator team decision. Sandgoose has been told he may make a new account, SandgooseXXI.

Sargmacher hasn't been gone long enough considering how deeply penetrating his cheating was. He was a respected member for a long time all the while cheating. Sneaky SOB (which makes him an assent in Diplomacy).

You guys are just upset with Sarg because despite all your hi-tech equipment and fancy-dan cheat detection technology he managed to outwit you for so long. You should be grateful he showed you how it's done so you learn for the future, nobody learns anything from a cheating idiot. Sarg could have dragged game moderating into the 21st Century, you should show him more respect.

Nigee...I caught sarg on my first day as a mod.

To address the Agent K and Sarg points though. Their cheating affected dozens of games. While sandgoose broke a lot of rules, it didn't really impact too many games. We're just not willing to consider letting someone back who's messed up dozens of games affecting dozens, or hundreds of members.

I did actually report Sarg after being on the site about a month I think it was, that really pissed him off when I told him I had reported him to the Mods but it seemed to stop the personal abuse he was sending me so I took it as a victory at the time

To be serious, Sargmacher was on a whole other level of severity in terms of his cheating. Sandgoose had cheated repeatedly, but it was just an annoyance in comparison to what Sarg was up to. I think I would call Sarg the all-time worst cheater in the history of webdip.

This is the way I did it, I looked at his previous games and whenever he played with 2 other Users (can't remember the other names now) he always did well and he didn't do as well when he wasn't playing with them, and he played with them quite a bit over a shortish period, this was all in gunboats. even with my limited knowledge of what was happening on the site at the time it was obvious that something was amiss, but he seemed to be everyones mate so I didn't expect any action, and that is exactly what I got.

I don't recall ever playing Sarg. I vaguely remember being in various arguments with him in his role as annoying left wing Brit. Never suspected he was a cheat, but on the other hand he was a Lib Dem so it sort of goes with the territory.

A sort of evil Nigee in many ways...

So I can't remove the Gold Star I gave myself and I feel like an ass...
With that being said: We have a yet-unused badge that we can give to people and I think we should do something with it. As a community, I'd like us to pick a couple people that we think have significantly contributed to the site and ask kestas to award them a gold star. Is this something people are interested in?
