Lando, I'm asking the community how they want to use it. If people want it to go to winners of tournaments, we can do that. Instead of acting like an absolute ass, maybe you could propose an actual suggestion. If people like it, we can go with that. This star is not being used. I'm trying to find a use for it and, completely contrary to your claim, I'm not just giving it out to anyone who is friends with the mods; I'm actively seeking feedback from the community to see how they want it used.

Personally, I'd prefer to give the star away for contribution to the site, only because it replaced the donator badge. I think giving a badge to winner of tournaments is a great idea, but I'd like to have a new one added that doesn't overwrite a player's donator status.

lol maple this site has some of the most patient mods on the entire internet. You would have banned years ago if we acted like other sites do.

We have 2 active Admins and 4 active mods. That's about what we've had for years. Maybe 1 extra, but the site is also larger.

The only difference is I'm here for the Forum. Having me around is no picnic for the mods, I promise you that.

I think you should give the stars to the friends of the mods. Then you can display a little picture of a turd next to myself and Lando and mapleleaf.

For contribution to the site, a gold star instead of the donation tag.

For winning a tournament, something that doesn't overwrite the donation tag. Since Diplomacy is a military game, I'd suggest different military medals or ranks.

For giving yourself a gold star and not being able to take it away...universal derision and harassment. Also amusement and laughter. "What do you mean, I broke the site?"

I think there should be a skull and crossbones to represent troll players, like krellin and Yellowjacket

I agree with Lando. We should definitely give it out, but reserve it for those with special achievements. Winning the gunboat tournament or finishing a World Cup public press game, for example. Also, maybe give it to those with a particularly high ratio of posts to +1s because their contributions are valued more than the average post.

I completely agree with Lando that we should have a badge for tournaments. I will be talking to Kestas about that when he returns. I think using the star for that though is very sloppy, given how it's currently implemented.

What about little trophy icons for winners of tourneys and leagues. The mouseover text could specify which one.

I like the idea of awards for winning tourneys, and something different for contributions to the site.

Forums...I'm not sure about. I think it should be something different than either since it is a sideline and not a part of the game proper. I don't want happy faces :) looking at me in the forum, but that's the only thing that comes to mind.
