new maps, new rule
I'm guessing there was probably already discussion about this that I didn't see, but I noticed on the two new maps new builds can go anywhere. In traditional rules you can only build on your start centers. I think the traditional rule provides a better balance in the game. Why was this changed on the new maps?

Decline in the playerbase
I've noticed less players available for live games than this time last year. I didn't worry during the September slump, as I attributed that to kids going back to school. But it appears to me that the number continues to slide.

Strange, the article makes no mention of the race of the occupants ... ? Surely this was a race motivated rescue, no?

Octo - he had a GOVERNMENT issued concealed carry permit. This means he had a criminal background check, was fond to be psychologically stable, and has gone through required training to carry a concealed weapon. There is very little chance he was a hardened criminal. There is also *no* evidence that he had *any* racial bias in his past....quite to the contrary. There is also no evidence that he "stalked" Trayvon Martin, as in legal terminology "stalking" has a very specific definition.

Chances are Trayvon Martin managed to slip away from Zimmy's view and popped out at him, caught him in a good sucker punch before grounding him and pounding him. This is the most likely scenario, given the *real* nature of the wounds on both parties, and dismissing all political commentary and lies spread by the media, but sticking *strictly* to evidence presented in court.
Octavious (2701 D)
25 Jul 13 UTC
@ krellin

Quite so. All of what he did seems to be above board in the US. In the UK, by contrast, it would be highly illegal. I am not judging the Zimster in this, merely stating why it would be near impossible for me to fairly do so.
mendax (321 D)
25 Jul 13 UTC

There was no evidence of any racial bias, if you for some reason discount the repetitive reporting of young black men to the police for no real reason. And the fact that a witness pointed out "he doesn't like black people". Oh, and he was previous arrested for violently resisting an officer, amongst other things. So yeah, not racist or criminal in any way, clearly.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
Msndax repeats media lies like a good Liberal sheep. Bahhhhhh...

Is your social justice peace riot torch lit too mendax? Smash any window in the name of racial unity lately?
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
If. zimmy had been arrested for "violently resisting police" he would not have had a.concealed carry permit.
mendax (321 D)
26 Jul 13 UTC
Eh, actually I haven't ever committed even mild property damage in the name of anything, let alone racial unity. Regarding the arrest, you can read his account of it in his application statement. So yeah, that happened.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
What application statement - I have no idea what you are talking about. Further...ARREST does not equ guilty. Just as he is INNOCENT of murder after being arrested for it.

I'd suggest if arrested before it was racially motivated, as he is a dark skinned Hispanic man, subject to police harassment for no good reason, right?
mendax (321 D)
26 Jul 13 UTC

His application to become a police officer (he was turned down). And you just denied that it could have happened. Now I've shown that you were just plain wrong, you change what your argument is entirely.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
Mendax, if that is true, that he was arrested AND CONVICTED for violence against a police officer, then he should not have had a concealed carry permit.

I have NOT SEEN YOUR EVIDENCE....therefore it does not exist, as it contradicts my understanding of the law regarding concealed carry.

And...one again...I know *reading is hard*....but ARREST does NOT EQUAL conviction.

Good god...keep spewing the hate and lies, mendax.

Putting on your hoodie now, getting ready to go beat up some random whities in the name of social justice now? Hell yeahs!!!! 'Cause that's how we's roll in the US of A when we are seeking racial equality and harmony!
mendax (321 D)
26 Jul 13 UTC
The application was presented as evidence in court. A link to that is here: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/05/18779269-prosecutors-george-zimmerman-applied-to-be-a-police-officer?lite

I never said that arrest did equal conviction, so you can put your straw-man away right now.

Whilst I do own a few hoodies, I am not currently wearing one, nor do I expect to wear one for a few months until the weather gets considerably cooler. I have never beaten up random people - the closest I've come to that has been in martial arts competitions, at which I've never done better than averagely. Clearly, then, this wasn't in the name of social justice. Whilst I would like racial equality and harmony, I am unconvinced, to say the least, that violence will go any way towards achieving this.
Tolstoy (1962 D)

"Resisting Arrest" is the go-to charge the police use against anyone who has offended them in any way. 80+% of victims of police criminality are charged with "resisting arrest" as part of the pro forma coverup; the charge is usually dismissed in return for the victim not suing. The fact that someone was charged but never tried for "resisting arrest" to me suggests that they were doing the right thing in the face of the wrong people, and is to my mind a badge of honor. Also, I seem to recall some story long ago about GZ publicly condemning the police at a city council meeting for some kind of illegal misconduct - hardly the act of a "wannabe police officer".
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
mendax -- Straw Man??? Fuck you, you disingenuous piece of racist shit. HYou brought this up specifically to try to discredit Zimmerman as having a violent past...and THEN when I call you out on your fucking lame as attempt by informing you that arrest without a conviction is fucking meaningless, you withdraw the claim and accuse me of playing a straw man argument?

Fuck you....The other option would be for you to man up and admit that you were wrong.

But...I know...your a typical fucking Noble White Liberal Male trying to stir the racial fires because you love to watch race riots in the street, becuase it justifies your continuing belief that blacks are inferior and need your help. You and Thucy -- what perfect butt buddies.
mendax (321 D)

Given that he applied to the police, it seems fair to term him a wannabe police officer. That seems to be almost the definitely of being a wannabe police officer.

Attacking someone for something that that didn't say, for something that nobody has said, is a perfect example of a straw man fallacy. I stand by my use of that phrase. You said that the arrest didn't happen. I gave you evidence that it did. Now all of a sudden it doesn't matter if it did or didn't, because according to you it's irrelevant. Perhaps if it truly didn't matter to you it would have been better if you'd used that as your argument in the first place.

I don't enjoy watching riots. I don't believe that blacks are inferior. I don't quite know how you managed to get the impressions that I believe black folk are inferior from the fact that I'm angry that a someone got away with murder. There is probably something at least vaguely resembling logic somewhere in that leap, but I don't see it.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 13 UTC
mendax - I didn't create any straw man-- I rsponded exactly to your posts. Now you are just lying about what you did. God you are pethetic. Have a shred of integrity.

You say you don't enjoy watching riots...and yet you spew the same vile lies and hatred that foment riots. You are a fucking lying piece of shit.

"I don't like bon fires, they scare me" he says, pouring fuel on the stack of wood and lighting his match.

Fuck off, mendax. Your as pathetic as Thucy.
mendax (321 D)

I've made clear what you said. It's there for everyone to read, should they wish to do so. I never made a claim that arrest was equal to conviction. Nobody said that those two things were equal. The only person who brought that up was you.

I actually quite enjoy bonfires. Sitting around them some night with friends is a very enjoyable way to spend the time. You usually don't need to pour fuel on them though, unless you're particularly poor at building fires.

I'm getting it now, in the US the Liberals are the guys who want to uphold justice and the rule of law where as the Ultras like a bit of hardcore vigilante action. I think the Krell & the Draug have been watching too much Charles Bronson. The dead teenager gets more vicious by the day, apparently a lot stronger now, cunning, violent, sinister, strong and athletic, just like all them other kids with Afro hair, thick lips, who can run fast, you know the ones with no brains swinging from trees ......
If you can bear to hear the words that was spoken, twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.
It is amazing how much better the discourse is on this site with Krellin muted. I just thought I'd point that out.

Krellin is a good man gone wrong, I think if we all hold hands and pray we can bring him back from the dark side, either that or we make him a Mod, then berate him at will for being completely useless ad unfair and he will have to try and behave normally, it could be an interesting social experiment.

1. Only morons click thruogh random links on the internet...so the idea that you posted it makes you....ding ding ding...you guessed it...a moron.

2. You are a racist.
a. You *seek* to find it everywhere...and therefore you do, whether it exists or not

b. You *seek* to accuse *everyone* of being a racist...and you do. The result? You create racists. Ever raise a child? If you tell them something over and over and over again, you tend to get the result you seek in some form. Criticize a shild, tell them they are no good over and over and over again...and chances are your child will start to misbehave, because that is the expectation you built. You should love that idea...it's very pop-psychology kind of stuff that you seem to eat up. It's also backed by
the advertising industry, that spends billions of dollars annually to repeat a message (you want to buy this...) creating good sheep that are convinced they want to buy something. Your product of choice? RACISM. You sell it daily, repeating your message, which goes something like this:
.......1. Everyone is racist, even those that don't know they are
.......2. Blacks can not make it in this world on their own without white man's help
.......3. Black have a right to be angry because everyone is racist
.......4. Even if white don't perform racist actions, they are racist
.......5. No law can stop racism, and no absence of action will eliminate racism
(Do I have it right so far? The unwinnable racism is eternal product you are selling?)

Guess what...you a Racism Marketer. You sell and create racism as your product of choice. You find it everywhere, you tell everyone that they are racist, and then cry your sad tears when people start repeating what you've told them.

Fuck you,Thucy...I don't play your games. I don't commits daily acts fo racism like you do. I don't create racism so that I can feel superior by pointing out all the racism around me.

I don't need to waste my time finding your direct quote because you know opints 1-5 above are *exactly* what you have said over and over again.
You are a Racism Marketer, creating the racism that only you are empowered to destroy.

Pathetic.

American Christians--Beware! THERE BE A WAR UPON THEE! (So Sayeth...Others)
A quick Wikipedia check puts the approximate number of Americans identifying as Christian at 70%; a Gallup poll in 2012 said 77%...let's say between 70-80%, with easily 85-90% of those in Congress Christian. States such as Texas STILL *REQUIRE* you to be Christian to run for governor. We support Intelligent Design more than any other Western nation, we argue against Evolution/Gay Rights/Atheism more than most Western nations...HOW is there a "War on Christianity," here, folks?

Pausing?
We're attempting to Pause a game as one player is gone for the weekend. However, certain players haven't checked in yet and so they haven't voted pause. The player who is leaving has left, but already voted to pause.

My question is, if the game progresses to the next phase, will the "Pause" vote reset, or will all the Pause votes stay in place unless cancelled by the voting player? Can we finish up our orders to progress to the start of the next round and then vote "Pause"?
