when did jmo1121109 lose all credibility?

i dont know about the corporate mod team but jmo has absolutely no credibility in the independent community. so which of these really made his moderation into the joke it now is?

1. permanently banning blankflag
2. silencing cheating accusations masked or implied to any absurd degree
3. locking all threads which reference the name of another player in a less than 100% positive manner

I'll be using my week's silence to focus on mowing the lawn as I heard that it can cause you to become racist or something if you don't do it.

2. If the reader understands what is being implied, an implied cheating allegation is no different than a clearly stated cheating allegation.

3. Dirge's thread was silly trolling, and it referenced krellin in the OP at a time when everyone knows krellin is silenced and therefore has no ability to respond. Perhaps locking it was going a bit far, but I'm not too worried either way.

I think, silencing needs to have a group of strict policy rules that all can follow. This silencing in one off situations has to stop. All rules and guidelines need to be clear for all members

1. Actually I didn't know krellin was silenced (why the hell is krellin silenced after all this time?)

2. I don't think jmo was so off base. I probably shouldn't have referenced krellin's lawn (but in my defense a number of member made the choice to put there addresses on a public google map with street view; I didn't make that choice for them).

3. draug is right that it was a light hearted slightly inebriated troll that caused no harm to anyone. Please note I did not give our krellin's address.

4. guy down the street from me is retired navy. I see him on his lawn every freakin day. Not a weed in sight. Puts republican lawn signs out. But, everyone knows anecdote does not equal datum. That's why webdip needs to pull together on this and collect some data!

If the moderators are serious about protecting members' privacy, you would do better to remind people that said google map has been posted several times with people's apparent home addresses. Perhaps that needs to be dealt with and rethought.

Just a helpful suggestion: don't talk about the personal lives of other players, especially without their permission, and especially when you know they are unable to respond. I would think that refraining from what essentially amounts to junior high school gossip would be below most forum members, but the admin team continues to be surprised on an almost daily basis now.

And dirge, if you think that Geofram's old map has everyone's "home address", I would urge you to go pay sbyvl a visit. He's somewhere in the Arctic.

No offence 2nd. But if you read my above post you would see that I did not know that krellin was silenced.

I acknowledged that I should not have referenced any other member's lawn practices. That is agreed. Although I wouldn't exactly call it gossip. Nor would I have made a non-insulting joke about krellin's lawn had I known he was silenced.

As for your map, I don't know if people put their real addresses on there. If not, this whole discussion is moot because I was simply referencing some random Detroitian's lawn.

Yes, details please. As you can now see, we didn't know he was silenced. Just cause the mod team knows doesn't mean we all do. And odds are you didn't even post it on the forum so we would know. So, the mod team screwed up and made a bad assumption *again* ether than research it. Locked a thread because it was assumed the OP knew something he didn't. Feels alot like when I got silenced for a phone auto correct on Lando's name (just had to correct that one as it wanted to make it Pando's, whatever that is).

I would encourage the mods to contact the ops and *ask* simple questions rather than jumping to conclusions.

So Krellin doesn't even know why. And then we get that he harasses vie the forum ( anybody seen maple get silenced for it lately) and PMs (the again, I point ot maple). But yet this is easy for the user to ignore with the push of a button.

No, I disagree with this unless every user who actively harasses others gets silenced too. That includes maple, and I guess myself for my recent harassment of the cheater mod kid (which isn't going to stop until I grow bored with it).
