You pick your news ..... no-one really wants to hear about 'our heroes' in Afghanistan brutalising and raping young boys .... surely if your govt preaches anti-violence you can take the moral high ground but why should we condemn any mob of any colour committing such acts when a highly trained and paid army are committing sickening crimes like this in the name of the good old US of A.
Violence begets violence, but before you start to condemn individual acts you have to condemn the act of War, then you can start dictating right & wrong, then you can take a moral high ground.
There are so many things the US Govt could do (but won't) in an attempt to bring about a more peaceful world.

You have before, but that's not why I said it. I was trying to communicate I do not have radical views of any kind, and that an entire group should not be associated with the minority. I don't watch very much of the news, but when I do, I rarely see anything that indicates a black make cannot be racist. Nor do I see anything about racism in general. Then again, I live in a nice, small city where nothing really happens.

I didn't see where the mob was all black. Did the story say that? Or is Krellin reading into it? I don't think it is a hate crime as much as mob mentality. It could well have happened to a Latino, black, Japanese, or any other race. He hit a 10 year old kid bad enough to put him in critical condition as well, which means he was probably driving recklessly and got the mob going as a result of how shitty his driving was. We also don't know what was said by him or how he acted before the beating started.

Draug - it's a local story, lots of local News and radio coverage with video of witnesses (who amazingly saw none of the attackers, even though they saw the beat-down…sigh…)

@niggebaby: the fact that you are basically saying that none of the americans are allowed to take the high ground because of something that the government, which they only decide some of the members, not everyone, and who they don't have a say in, is actually racism. The fact that you are saying that Americans are not able to take the high ground because of an action committed by an extremely small percentage of the people in the military, and by some members of the government. War can be useful in some situations, and is not completely bad. Acting like it is is a very bad decision. It is also not a very good idea to criticize the American government when I guarantee that the government in the place that you live has also committed problems. Finally, he never said that the actions committed by the government or the military were ok, or attempted to act like they were. By your standards, no individual or group has the right to decide what is right or wrong as everyone (except very small babies) have committed a crime of some kind.

If it wasn't a hate crime in the moment, the *numerous* interviews from eye-witnesses, saying shit about him gettin' what's comin' to 'im and whatnot, coupled with the fact that NO FUCKING PERSON has assisted the police yet in identifying who possibly killed the guy in the truck, pretty much fucking indicates to me it is a racially motivated move.

Maybe I'm jaded. But no...I think I'm just pretty fucking realistic about Black Detroit versus Anyone White. Detroit politics is *rotten* with *openly* anti-white racism...so it isn't that difficult to believe the openly racist people running City Council were voted in by openly racist citizens.
