new maps, new rule
I'm guessing there was probably already discussion about this that I didn't see, but I noticed on the two new maps new builds can go anywhere. In traditional rules you can only build on your start centers. I think the traditional rule provides a better balance in the game. Why was this changed on the new maps?

Decline in the playerbase
I've noticed less players available for live games than this time last year. I didn't worry during the September slump, as I attributed that to kids going back to school. But it appears to me that the number continues to slide.

George zimmerman pulls family of 4 from a rolled SUV
http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/2575217

Strange, the article makes no mention of the race of the occupants ... ? Surely this was a race motivated rescue, no?

No, no no he only helped because the car was blue! If it was a black car he'd have kept driving.

That story obviously means he can tour my neighbourhood with a pump action down his pants, as long as he doesn't shoot my black wife when she tries to get in her 4 x 4

He won't shoot her until she lays a beating on his lumpy ass. lol.

Randomizer - actually, black hip-hop cultures loves 'dem some Escaldes...

I think it's the slightly Hispanic sounding name that really turns the darkies on...

Are we having fun with all the forced racist comments yet? God bless the media hype for making racism popular again!

Thank you TMZ. What would we do without such an upstanding news outlet. Because the race of the occupants of a random up-turned SUV is so f-ing important to Western Civilization.

What demonstration of strength was required here? Ahhh....more Liberal lies, rewriting stories, adding information that doesn't exist, all to fit a pre-planned agenda.

Don't EVER let the facts get in the way of your agenda, man...keep up the great work!
Draugnar (0 DX)

@mendax - I can bench 150 lbs. But a 150 lb barbell isn't punching me in the face and trying to bash my head into the ground. A barbell is nothing but static weight. Like wise, the door on an upturned SUV isn't fighting back. It is just static weight. Trayvon, if he got the jump on me, could easily pin me down and ebat the fuck out of me. Yet I could assist int he removal of a family of four from an overturned SUV without any issue.

mendax has also apparently never studied any martial arts. Not all fights are won by strength, otherwise boxing, wrestling, etc would be rather pointless competitions.
Octavious (2701 D)

krellin is quite right. If boxing was a simple matter of the big strong bloke winning they'd have to chop up the sport into countless divisions based on size to ensure there would be a contest worth watching ;)

Although, to be fair to the actual point, the chap who attacks first will almost always have the advantage in a fight between non-professionals.

Training/experience can also make a *huge* difference. I know a couple Marines who are 5'8" or so and weight maybe 150lbs who could take down a 6'2" 325lb NFL linebacker.

"all I know is come the glorious revolution you'll have a higher body count than Rambo"

I don't know about that. I guess if I can stay alive, I'll do a whole lot of damage.
mendax (321 D)
25 Jul 13 UTC
1) TM had no martial arts experience.
2) I do have martial arts experience. You have to be seriously good to overturn that kind of weight differential. I'm 6'3", and there are plenty of people who I can beat in a fight despite them being technically better than me, just because I'm a larger person.
krellin (80 DX)
25 Jul 13 UTC

TM had all sorts of fighting experience!!! He was expelled MULTIPLE times from school for fighting. Formal training, no, but a large strong 17 year old.kid with ample.experience nice.fighting. Get over the fluffy little wimpy lollipop version of TM. He was a fuckkngn THUG.
mendax (321 D)
25 Jul 13 UTC
1) He wasn't large. He was 5'11" and 158 lbs. That's not a large person, so stop lying.
2) I can find nothing to say that he was ever expelled from school. He was suspended more than once, but that's nothing like the same thing. So stop lying.
krellin (80 DX)
25 Jul 13 UTC
Ever meet a 5'11" kid that's all muscle? God you are a fucktard..

krellin (80 DX)

By the way, 158 puts him in as a Super Welterweight.

And I'll guarantee...if he weren't a corpse....he'd probably kick YOUR ass in a street fight...
Octavious (2701 D)

A lot depends on perspective. One of the reasons I have avoided getting too involved in Zimmerman threads, aside from finding US racial politics unbelievably dull, is that the situation is so alien from a British perspective.

Over here it would be simple. Zimmerman, by virtue of being armed and stalking other citizens, would be considered a hardened criminal who, if caught, would get some serious jail time. As such Martin would be something of a have a go hero who foolishly took on the criminal and got himself killed for his trouble. Different countries, very different rules.

But yeah, a 5'11" man with muscle is not someone you can dismiss. I believe that's taller than your average Yank these days.

American Christians--Beware! THERE BE A WAR UPON THEE! (So Sayeth...Others)
A quick Wikipedia check puts the approximate number of Americans identifying as Christian at 70%; a Gallup poll in 2012 said 77%...let's say between 70-80%, with easily 85-90% of those in Congress Christian. States such as Texas STILL *REQUIRE* you to be Christian to run for governor. We support Intelligent Design more than any other Western nation, we argue against Evolution/Gay Rights/Atheism more than most Western nations...HOW is there a "War on Christianity," here, folks?

Not Getting to 100 Points
I thought that if I finished a game and I was under 100 D, I'd be "moved" to 100 D.

I've finished a couple of games and still way down on the points - 44. Why is this?

Pausing?
We're attempting to Pause a game as one player is gone for the weekend. However, certain players haven't checked in yet and so they haven't voted pause. The player who is leaving has left, but already voted to pause.

My question is, if the game progresses to the next phase, will the "Pause" vote reset, or will all the Pause votes stay in place unless cancelled by the voting player? Can we finish up our orders to progress to the start of the next round and then vote "Pause"?
