Russia and Turkey - Russia should never have left turkey to survive another year; possibly reacting to the forlorn hope comment i still think Russia used the wrong unit to counter, either F con - bla to protect Sev, or waiting to see what turkey actually did and responding with a bounce from moscow (which is less than ideal)
France's evacuation of England shows an alliance in the making; good diplomacy from the english player to pull it off, but france likely prefer to have a weak neighbour in the north fighting the russia than a fight with that russian over english soil.
Scandanavia is there for the taking of Germany-England if they work together. Germany however has as always enough enemies to make things fun. Germany has taken Russian territory, but now austria looks to be on the move north over the east-west line.
at this point it looks like 15 builds to the western triple, 15 builds to the better juggernaut.
triples are inherently more stable than two-player alliances as any stabbing player risks the ire of both partners.
Italy is stuck in the middle, depending largely on diplomacy, obviously other commentators predicting englands immediate destruction were wrong, I could be wrong to predict italy's downfall. Either Austria or France could ruin Italy's day. (note to self: surprise move, shouldn't spoil until game progresses)
it looks like the game is now into the middle phase, of two allinaces. Italy is inbetween, may be the king makers, may be a forlorn hope.
Turkey still doomed.
