That's an interesting idea. We already have the technical capability... since we have access to IP addresses, and it's just a simple matter of running it through an IP-to-geo locator doohicky. It would definitely have to be optional, and by default off... not everyone wants people to know where they live.
Except that some of our IPs are not locally located. Mine at work come out of Michigan, yet I work in Cinci, OH. We have a T1 connection between PEP's offices in Cinci and Valassis' in Livonia several hundred miles north.
I'm not a fan. Some GeoIP systems get my location ok (right city) but most of them don't. What I would like to add is an activity bar, telling people what times you're, on average, online. I think this would be very useful in working out if a game is suitable for you. It would have 24 little squares in it, and they'd be coloured darker for the hours you're online more.
Let's say army A attacks Ruh to Bur, supported by an army in Bel, while army B attack Bur to Ruh, unsupported. I know army A wins and moves to Bur, vacating Ruh. My question is, can a unit dislodged from Kie meanwhile retreat into Ruh after the move? I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes", but I want to be sure.

I am playing a face-to-face game of diplomacy with some folks. Those playing as Russia and Turkey say that those playing as Germany and Italy "ceded" their entire countries to them. Germany and Italy agree, but the rest of us don't like the idea. I was under the impression that if you leave your country, you go into civil disorder and others must MOOVE UNITS to claim the land PHYSICALLY. Can you confirm/clarify? Thanks.
