Well this is interesting, it's still spring 01, comments on multiple accounts in the forum, and despite talk of "ganging up on Goldfinger", somehow Goldfinger with England, has intimidated both Russia (Vashta) and France ( Captain meme) sufficiently to have them post Draw votes. After waiting 2 days the Spring 01 moves have been played. Vashta(Russia) & UClabb(Turkey) have apparently sealed a non aggression and non movement pact. Goldfinger(England) and Captainmeme (France) may have decided the best way to ensure an unnocupied English Channel was to bounce each other's fleets there. Goldfinger sent his army to Wales, so all that talk of Yorkshire pudding and black sausage was, as Gordon Ramsay might say, "just a load of effing crap" and it's leeks, leeks and more leeks for supper. Tom Bombarding with Germany has Blitzkrieg'd his way into Denmark and the low countries and looks set to gain three sc's and top the board by the end of the first year.
What can I say about two countries NMR~ing in a game of Almighty Mods and ex Almighty Mods ? Clowns with cork brains can do better gentlemen. If there's a hidden strategy, then I hope it stays hidden. Until the end of time.

Italy( 2ndWL) and Austria (ATC). Well our Machiavellian Maestro played a reasonably standard opening, armies to Apulia and Piedmont, fleet to the Ionian Sea. Fortunately for Captainmeme who apart from the English Channel head to head with Goldfinger, sent his armies to Spain and Gascony, the good news is that ATC moved an army to Serbia, fleet Trieste to Albania, and army Vienna to Tyrolia. Did ATC with extraordinary powers of divination sense the non aggression and non movement pact between Turkey and Russia ? His army in Tyrolia might give Tom Bombarding some concern. Can Captainmeme take the chance with Marseilles ? Could the army in Piedmont be a Machiavellian bluff ? What Fuastian ( or Falstaffian ) pact has ATC made that enables such wizardry with Austria ?

I'm really keen to see what ATC with Austria does this move. He has the power to "shape the game".. He could bounce Turkey in Bulgaria, of bounce Russia in Rumania and deny one of the other a crucial build. uclabb (Turkey) has offered a plausible explanation for his failure to move any units in the spring move.. he was (allegedly) in some impoverished region without any services and couldn't access the internet.. ATC with Austria has invaded France with Germany's help and it certainly is interesting to watch ATC with Austria. His alliance with Turkey. His invasion of Germany. Then his "alliance" with Germany despite his continued occupation of Munich.

Another set of spring moves..ATC is using a strategy that's way above the comprehension of my clockwork brain. Goldfinger is making gains in Scandinavia.
